Ten years ago this month, I left my full time job in law and started my photography business š·
Iād already been photographing for a few years before that. Learning, practising, taking on work alongside other commitments and slowly building the confidence to make it my full-time career.
Back then, my work was centred around weddings and families. Saying yes to everything, learning on the job and figuring things out as I went.
Over time, the work evolved, and so did the kind of photography I was drawn to.
What started as weddings and family life slowly grew into branding and commercial work.
Photographing people in their work, their businesses, their environments. Helping them show up confidently and naturally, without feeling stiff or overdone.
So much has changed over the last ten years:-
The work.
The direction.
The confidence to say no to some things so I could say yes to the right ones.
But what hasnāt changed is my love for it.
Iāve always loved working with people. Making them feel at ease. Telling their story in a way that feels real and considered.
Iām incredibly grateful for the clients who trusted me in the early days, and for the ones who still come back time and time again.
This business has grown slowly, intentionally, and in a way that feels true to me.
Ten years in, and Iām excited for what comes next.
How should I celebrate though? š š„
