I studied Graphic Design and Photography at Salford University in the mid 1990's, before that I went to art school at Oldham College. I live in Failsworth, Manchester with my wife and twin boys. People crying at weddings is one of my favourite things to photograph. I know that may sound a little weird, but I’m acutely aware at the time that moments like these are so important to capture for my couples.

In a world where so much imagery is performative, curated and staged, particularly within the wedding industry, I feel privileged to photograph natural raw emotion - something that cannot be faked.

My goal at every single wedding is to capture moments that remind you and your guests what it felt like at the time, rather than what the photographer was telling you to do. 😎

It’s incredibly rare in the UK to witness a sunset like this one, how lucky that my couple from Friday’s wedding at West Tower Exclusive Wedding Venue in Ormskirk were treated to this scene.

I took this photo a couple of minutes before I left to drive home, I noticed these children watching on in awe, and knew it was a great moment to capture.

Kids don’t tend to notice things like this, but they were stood completely still watching the sun for a good few minutes. It was a lovely moment and I’m so happy I was able to photograph it. 😎

Massive congratulations to Gemma & George who were married on Saturday at the stunning St. Peter’s & St.Raphael’s Church in Stalybridge followed by an absolutely wild reception at Glossop RUFC. 🔥

I used to work with Gemma many years ago back when I was an office chimp and it was an absolute pleasure to photograph her wedding to fellow-teacher, George.

Huge congratulations to Hannah & Jon who were married on Friday at the beautiful West Tower Exclusive Wedding Venue in Ormskirk, just down the road from Liverpool. 🔥

My philosophy is to provide only the absolute bare minimum of guidance for a few posed group photos and couple shots. The overwhelming majority of your wedding day is photographed naturally, leaving you to enjoy your wedding without it feeling like a performative photoshoot.

The heatwave has returned! 😎

Thankfully it’s not forecast to be quite as hot as the last one, but it looks like we’re set for a good couple of weeks of wall to wall sunshine, with the added bonus of the night time temperatures not being too stifling.

I’ll be keeping hydrated and eating all the ice cream whilst editing away in my office, look after yourselves and enjoy the sun while it’s here! 🔥
