One of my favourite parts of being a newborn photographer is hearing all of your birth stories during sessions - every family’s journey is completely different and so special in its own way. ❤️

And while we're talking babies… if you're expecting and thinking ahead to newborn photos too, my diary is open and I always recommend booking during pregnancy as I only take a limited number of due dates each month.

Parenting isn’t always calm…some days are loud, messy, emotional and completely unpredictable 😅 and honestly, that’s what I love most about it. Because those real, unfiltered moments — the tears, the chaos, the in-between bits — are just as important as the smiles 🤍

The love between a mother and her child is in all the little moments 🤍 Happy Mother’s Day to the mums holding tiny hands, giving endless cuddles and loving with their whole hearts.

Today I’m also thinking of those missing their mums. Having lost my own wonderful mum, I know this day can carry both beautiful memories and a quiet ache. And to the mums whose children are no longer in their arms — you are in my thoughts today as well 🤍 Marcia xx

These sibling moments are some of my favourite little connections to capture 🤍

The cuddles, curiosity, and quiet “helping” moments are often the ones parents treasure most. I love photographing these little memories for families, especially in my local area including Prestwich and Whitefield.

I was looking back through old galleries this week and found this session…still one of my all-time favourites 🤍

I remember this family being so worried beforehand that the kids had “so much energy” and weren’t going to cooperate the way they hoped.

And that brings me to the number one thing parents say to me after I deliver their gallery:

“I cannot believe you got these.”
“We didn’t think you’d even get one good photo.”
“How did you do this?!”

And every time, I smile 🤍

Because here’s the truth —

I don’t expect your kids to stand still.
I don’t expect perfection.
I don’t need quiet or calm.

I expect real life.

The wiggles. The giggles. The snack breaks. The shy phases. The bursts of laughter. The in-between moments where your toddler runs back to you and wraps their arms around your legs.

That’s where the magic actually is ✨

You don’t need perfectly behaved children to have beautiful family photos. You just need to show up.

I’ll take care of the rest.

As we step into 2026 I just want to say thank you to every family I’ve had the privilege of working with this year - capturing your stories has truly meant so much to me. I’m so grateful for your trust and can’t wait to meet new families and create more meaningful memories in the year ahead.
I’m also thinking of those who find this time of year hard, and wishing everyone a year filled with peace, kindness, and good health. Marcia x 💛
