Newborn + big brother

He might have been little himself, but he absolutely smashed his newborn session.

Being a big brother is a pretty big job, especially when you’re still little yourself. But he was incredible with his new baby sister. So gentle, so loving and just completely brilliant.

These first few weeks pass so quickly, but professional newborn photographs preserve the tiny details that change before you realise it.

If you’re expecting, I recommend booking your newborn session after your 20 week scan. Your session is then reserved around your due date, giving you one less thing to think about once your little one arrives.

The cuteness overload is real in these photos.

Working with a toddler is a challenge in itself. Add in a newborn baby and now we’re talking about a real test of patience, energy and teamwork.

But this little boy was an absolute superstar. Sometimes the most beautiful images come from keeping things simple and letting children be themselves.

I never expect toddlers to sit still or pose perfectly. They need freedom to move, explore and feel like they’re in control. My job is to turn the session into a game, follow their lead and capture those genuine moments as they happen.

My little trick works most of the time. What a session, amazing family, beautiful little boy and I’m so honoured to have such a wonderful job .

Meet our newest family member, Buster. 🐾

A week ago we rehomed this handsome little wrinkle top, and what a week it’s been.

Buster is an English Bulldog, Lilac Tri, and he’s 1 year and 10 months old. He’s chunky, bouncy, lazy, comical, and has absolutely no concept of personal space. If there’s a lap available, he’ll be on it.

One of the biggest reasons we got another dog was for Kai, I said I’d never get another dog as it’s like having another child but we have in and it’s already made such a difference. Every morning starts with an excited greeting, a wiggly bum shake, and a best friend waiting for him. Seeing Kai’s face light up is worth everything.

Buster is a big lad at 21kg, solid, stocky, and full of personality. He’s settled in so well and has completely took over.

Welcome to the family, Buster. ❤️ I may have to try pet photography 🤦🏽‍♀️
