Next Tuesday, we are pleased to welcome Vanda Ralevska to the club, with here talk "Looking Beyond a Single Image.

"In my presentation, I will focus on my journey from capturing single images, through creating collections and series, to working on short and long-term projects. I will explore how working in projects and on books as a final result helps you get out of a creative block and find your own personal vision. I will discuss several of my ongoing and completed photographic projects, how they keep me motivated and how they help me develop an individual and personal point of view. I will demonstrate how a project-based approach and looking beyond a single image can lead to developing new, exciting ideas that can breathe fresh air into your photographic journey.”

ABOUT VANDA RALEVSKA:
I am a photographer based in London. I am passionate about capturing the world we live in with my camera, always searching for those fleeting moments of magic that transform it into something extraordinary.

I find inspiration in the sea and its infinite power and uncontrollable energy, in quieter scenes and intimate details that abound in nature. In my images I strive to reflect the atmosphere, feeling, and sheer wonderment that our natural world can evoke within us. For me photography is more than just a recording of where I have been. It is about encompassing the whole experience of being in the outdoors, and trying to capture that one special moment that leaves a lasting impression on us. My images and articles have been published in magazines, exhibited in the UK and abroad and have received awards in international competitions. I am a member of Arena Photographers – a collective based in the south of England. I give talks at camera clubs and have lectured abroad

Time to announce next weeks speaker George Mcleod with his talk on Project Photography. Here's a bit about George, "I’m a photography obsessive, I built my first darkroom in my Dads attic when I was 17 and went on to study photography at Nottingham Trent Uni, graduating in 2003.
Shortly after, I moved to London where I balanced work as a freelance retoucher, small music commissions and shooting my own fashion editorials.
It was during the pandemic I decided to focus on fine art photography full time, and was named the British Fine Art Photographer in 2022.
These days I might be better described as an artist working in photography, and am now represented by MMX gallery in London.
I have started to shoot commercially again and I continue to pursue music purely for fun. I also have a two year old boy, which has inspired me to start writing a children’s TV show. In short, I don’t get much sleep.”

This week on Tuesday 3 March it’s our second Members’ Evening of the season. Four of our Club Members have kindly volunteered to share a story either about themselves or a journey they've been on. Kicking off the evening will be Naveen with ‘My Story’ followed by Eleonora with her talk ‘India: A Tapestry of People’ inspired by a recent trip to India. After the break will be nonother than our Chair Ian Rees with ‘My Tale’ and wrapping the evening up is Ian Nock with a presentation from the recent MCC trip to Prague. Please do come along if you can to support the presenters who have put time and effort into putting a story together to share with us all. It’s a really great opportunity to get to know more about the people you see on Tuesday evenings.

On Tuesday 17th February 2026 (8pm-10pm) David Burnett will be talking about the historic moments he has photographed throughout his 60 year career as a photojournalist. Pictures of every US President from JFK to Trump. Photos from the Vietnam war, Iranian revolution, Olympics and much more. Please encourage anyone interested in photography to tune into Zoom (£5) for this incredible opportunity to hear from one of the world's best photographers. In my opinion, of all the speakers over these last few years this is the one not to be missed.

Bit of a different evening tonight as we welcome and Leighton Buzzard Camera Club for round 3 of the CACC Rosebowl Competion, judge by

Chris gained his Associateship of the RPS with traditional darkroom monochrome prints, and a Fellowship some years later with digital colour prints. Chris now serves as Chair on the RPS Visual Art (Associate and Fellowship) panel, an assessor on the Landscape panel, provides advice at RPS distinction workshops, and undertakes 1 to 1 Zoom appraisals too.

A busy national PAGB judge and popular lecturer, Chris has visited more than 285 different camera clubs and judged many regional, national and international exhibitions.

Chris earnt a Distinction of the PAGB with colour transparencies and was pleased to receive an APAGB award for his services to photography. He has also had success and gained awards in international exhibitions while working towards his AFIAP and subsequent EFIAP distinctions. Chris is also a member of the prestigious London Salon of Photography.

Although Chris loves his own photography, he genuinely enjoys reviewing, assessing and judging other people's work too. He’s deeply aware of the responsibility that has been placed upon him but always enjoys the process, searching out the gems, discovering great images, and appreciating the work of other photographers.

He has climbed the ladder of judging experience (and acceptance) through regional and federation events to national and international exhibition level and is delighted to now be included on the Photographic Alliance of Great Britain national list.

After 2 Rounds of the Rosebowl competition, the scores are very tight between MCC, Croxley and Leighton Buzzard so please do come along to the meeting to support your Club if you can.
