GETTING REAL!
Being self employed is tough.
Both me and kel have other jobs alongside our photography; Kel works full time in Manchester and I run a clothing boutique with my mum- pretty much everyone we’ve met in the biz also have other jobs, including the bands!
Today I worked 9-5 in the shop; unpacking, steaming, checking, pricing, serving and running about the place. I then shot some gorgeous products after hours, getting home gone 6 to be editing the photographs and finishing the final touches for a client video from the other day until 8! There have been times when I’ve been up at 4:30 in the morning to edit in time before work, or up until 3 in the morning editing after a gig. The hours are long, the planning is hard, the work even harder. I wouldn’t want it any other way and I am SO lucky to be busy and forever grateful to all our clients!🥰
While I know the hours today were not too bad and have defiantly been harder; I think about our emergency staff and doctors working through the night under much more strenuous circumstances than me taking a few piccies and talking clothes (God bless the NHS, right?!)❤️
But this is just a gentle reminder of how much work it takes to run ANY business and how draining (yet totally worth it) being self employed or freelanced is!❤️ shoutout to all the boss babes out there who run their own business and still manage to shower before midnight!😂🎉
Because your ‘boss’ hasn’t told you recently: YOU ROCK AND YOU’RE DOING GREAT!🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼
