I've been so busy with other work and travelling that I haven't been promoting my equine photography. I reckon it's time I started again. This is a great time of year to photograph horses at their best in their summer coats.
It doesn't have to be my signature studio style. Outdoors is looking great just now.

I'm an equine photographer so why am I showing you a photo of a base guitar?
Well I also do commercial photography and I have a client who said to me "I like your photography. Every time you photograph one of my guitars I sell it."
For those of you that are selling a horse think about what my photography could do for your sale. Much of the sale is based on breeding, training and what the horse has competed in, but that last little bit of decision making is always ruled by emotions. If you used my photographs you could get a faster sale. You could experience less haggling. You could even command a higher asking price. When you are talking about horses worth thousands of pounds, a small investment in quality photographs is surely a good idea.
Clients who simply had a personal private shoot for their own love of a horse have said that when they came to sell the horse years later the photos really helped.

This photo of Reggie just won a little competition on the model/photographer forum of PurplePort. No real prize other than bragging rights but it does give me the opportunity to make a good point here.
I am very much a portrait photographer and when it comes to photographing your beloved horse (or dog), I don't understand why they should be treated any differently to a human. So I am happy spending the time to get the job done properly and if that includes bringing my lighting setup to an indoor school or barn so I can get the lighting perfect then that is what I will do.
I will also give them time and I have patience so they are relaxed and then we will get the best portraits.

We're Gonna Need a Bigger Fence.
This red deer stag had been enjoying himself wallowing in the mud of one of the ponds. When he decided to go he sauntered over to the fence and from a standing start easily cleared the railings.
