The-Archive.co.uk is a website we have created to display a growing collection of historical and memorable images from the archives of Hart photography Ltd. They include photographs of local views, aerial views, factories, cars and much more. They have been filed away in our vaults. We thought it was a real shame that people couldn’t see these pictures and wanted to make them easily available to v
iew. There’s a lot of time involved in bringing these images to the website. There are literally thousands of negatives to scan, so this will be an ever ongoing process. Our aim is to add more photographs to the site each week, however this will be dependant on the work load of our main business Portraits by Hart which is always extremely busy. At the end of the day we are a business so for The-Archive.co.uk website to succeed and continue to grow, we do need to sell images from it to cover our costs. However, the site isn’t just there to sell pictures. Our aim is to evolve the site into a source of information, stories and local knowledge. This is where our page comes into play. If you have any information or stories you can add to any of the pictures then please join in, any story or little piece of information no matter how small will help to enrich the history.
