There are many benefits to being a member - just ask us. We are a small friendly club of individuals interested in photography based in the Forest of Dean. Meetings are at Viney St Swithins Sports and Social club on Monday evenings from September to April at 7.15pm, and monthly during the summer months (May – August) at the Rising Sun in Moseley Green, Parkend on the Second Monday of each month. Another event for your diary, this coming Sunday. Following the extensive communications from Gina Nell I understand only the official photographer is allowed to attend and photograph this event. This does sometimes happen with music events and so to evidently with horses. Seems a shame but they have their reasons.

So, as promised, the results of the Coleford Challenge. First place went to Huw Jones and Steve Young with 118 points, runners up Andy Whelan and Kim Mobbs with 107 points. These challenges are run at various times during the summer months and usually involve a visit to somewhere local, participants randomly put into pairs and then a set of topics to photograph. This one in Coleford on a very grey evening, and the topics were Wooden, Metallic, Stone, Brick, Glass or Plastic, and Alive. Here are the photos the winning team took.

At last nights pub meet up, the winners of the recent challenge PATHS was announced and the third place went to Andy Whelan with 'No Parking' second was Steve Young with 'Brindley Place' and first was........ (drum roll) ..... Huw Jones with 'Head to the beach' .

Congratulations to all who entered, a lot of very creditable photos and the next challenge is now open.

And on Monday 8th (that's today) at 7.00pm we have a get together at the Rising Sun in Moseley Green.  Cameras optional....

This Sunday 7th is the Faddle Fair in Coleford, not only interesting but also a good photo opportunity. 25 stalls of local artisans, creatives and traders full of art, vintage, antiquities, vinyl and more. Live music, singers, food, beer & community. Free parking, free entry.

If you missed the recent 'Street Photography' day in Bristol then you have a second opportunity on 25th June. This one is part of the photowalks series organised by Andy Whelan but this it will have Steve Moseley as the leader. Members can book up for it on the club website.
Also next Monday 8th June there is a meet up at the Rising Sun Moseley Green.
