Some couples donā€™t opt for getting-ready photos, but I think prep is such a special part of the wedding story šŸ¤

Not only does prep give me the chance to spend time with you and your wedding party, but itā€™s also the perfect time to break the camera ice. Thereā€™s usually plenty of conversation, laughter, excitement and those little moments that make the morning so memorable.

I love getting to know my couples and the people closest to them, and during this time Iā€™m able to capture things naturally and unobtrusively (often without you even realising Iā€™m taking photos).

From a storytelling point of view, the morning is incredibly important. The nervous excitement, the anticipation, hair and makeup, outfits being buttoned up, ch*****ne being poured, final touches and those quiet moments before everything begins.

Itā€™s also the perfect time to capture all the little details that hold so much meaning: sentimental jewellery, handwritten notes, meaningful gifts, flowers, invitations, shoes, outfits and those special little touches youā€™ve chosen to make the day yours.

And then there are the moments you canā€™t recreate.

The first looks. The reactions from your loved ones when they see you ready for the first time. The hugs, happy tears, nervous laughter and those quiet exchanges with the people who mean the most to you.

As one photographer, I canā€™t physically be in two places at once! If youā€™d like the story of both partners getting ready, booking a second shooter is invaluable.

While Iā€™m with one partner and their wedding party, your second shooter can be with the other; capturing their morning, their details, their people, their emotions and all those beautiful moments happening at the same time.

It means neither side of your story is missed.

Your wedding day goes by in a whirlwind, and when you look back at your gallery, these photographs help tell the whole story; not just how the day looked, but how it felt.

Because your story starts long before you walk down the aisle. šŸ¤
