Had these guys nest in the garden last year 🪺
Great outcome. As there was stacks of chicks being fed by their parents from the feeders and was such a privilege to be part of seeing them grow up.
Hopefully we’ll be able to witness many more again this year 😄

Hoopoe back in the summer when we went over to Lanzarote.
Magnificent looking birds. Would of been amazing to of had my camera about at the time of seeing this little beauty.

I’ve set up a deliberate perch branch in my garden that over hangs a lot of the feeders and is great for them to feel safe before they fly over. So far seems to be working with keeping the natural background too for the shots.

These long tailed balls of fluff seem to be regular visitors to my garden at the minute.
They only seem to feasting on the suet blocks I put out more then anything. I’d imagine to keep there fat reserves up due to the cold & frost we still keep getting. As they struggle in this type of weather.
I seem to be getting two groups of these come at the minute. One bunch seems to come as a group of 6-7. But this particular one in the photo only seems to be coming in as a pair currently 🤍

Building houses on this land will completely isolate the Lock Lane Nature Reserve, Sawley's only nature reserve. It will be fragmented on all 4 sides with the road, railway, canal and development.
