The best gifts are usually the ones that make someone feel something.
And photographs do exactly that.

A beautiful framed image for grandparents.
A family photograph for someone who never knows what to ask for.
A newborn image for relatives who can’t stop staring at the new baby.
A sibling photograph that makes everyone say, “Look how little they were.”

Photos are one of those gifts that don’t get used up, grown out of or forgotten in a cupboard.

They become part of someone’s home.

Part of the family story.

And honestly, grandparents especially never get tired of photographs of the people they love most.

Christmas-themed newborn images don’t have to mean bright red, tinsel and chaos.

They can be soft, simple and timeless.

A tiny festive wrap.
A little Christmas detail.
A cosy neutral setup.
A beautiful image that feels seasonal without taking over the whole gallery.

If your newborn session is around the Christmas period, we can include a few Christmas-inspired images alongside the more classic newborn photographs.

That way you still have your timeless baby images, but also something extra special for Christmas cards, gifts or just to remember your baby’s very first Christmas season.

Because tiny babies and Christmas magic together?

Honestly, it doesn’t get much sweeter 🤍

Baby due “near Christmas” =
everyone gets excited,
you get emotional,
and the diary gets very full very quickly 😂

If your baby is due in the lead-up to Christmas, please don’t leave newborn photos as a “we’ll sort it once baby is here” job.

I know it feels early to book when you’re still pregnant, but those first few weeks with a newborn are a complete blur.

You’re feeding, healing, learning your baby, running on very little sleep and somehow losing track of what day it is.

Newborn sessions are booked around your due date, not a fixed date, because babies arrive when they’re ready.

Pre-booking simply means I’ve got space held for you, and once your baby arrives we arrange the best date properly.

The run-up to Christmas is always one of the busiest times in the studio, so if your baby is due around then, getting your newborn session pencilled in early makes everything feel much calmer later 🤍

Every session in the studio is different.

Some are quiet.

Some are funny.

Some are emotional.

Some involve snacks, cuddles, feeding breaks, outfit changes, cake crumbs, toddler negotiations or a baby who decides sleep is absolutely not on the agenda.

But underneath all of that, they are about the same thing.

Remembering.

Remembering how small they were.

How loved they were.

How your family felt in that chapter.

How you were there too.

Because these photographs are not just for this year.

They are for every year after.

✨ Nearly 30 years of capturing memories has taught me something important.

The photographs people treasure most are not always the ones they expected.

Sometimes it is the tiny detail.

The parent cuddle.

The funny face.

The sibling moment.

The image where everyone relaxed.

The photograph that feels most like them.

And when those images are printed, framed or placed in an album, they become part of a family’s life.

That is the bit I love.

Not just creating images.

Creating something that stays.

A photograph feels different when it is printed.

You notice it more.

You walk past it.

Your children see it.

Visitors comment on it.

It becomes part of the room.

Part of the home.

Part of the family.

That is why I love helping clients choose finished pieces.

Because the right image in the right place can make you smile every single day.

💛 Do you have framed family photos up at home, or are yours still waiting patiently on your phone?

💛 Family photographs grow in value.

The image you love today might be the one that makes you emotional in ten years.

Because by then, their little hand will not fit in yours the same way.

They might not climb on your lap as often.

They might not need carrying.

They might not pull that exact expression anymore.

Photographs hold all the little things time changes.

That is why being in them matters.

Not someday.

Now.

🤰 Imagine your child finding your maternity photographs one day.

Seeing your hands on your bump.

Realising they were in there.

Seeing the love that existed before they were born.

That is what makes maternity photographs so special.

They are not just “bump pictures.”

They are the first chapter.

And when they are printed, framed or kept in an album, they become part of the story your child can actually hold.
