Elusive. Wary. Cunning.

Vixen (Red Fox) .................................................Mainly Nocturnal and Crepuscular hunters, the Red Fox has an acute sense of hearing and is able to hear some of the lowest frequency sounds enabling them to even hear small mammals hiding underground.
During the upcoming winter months to deal with a reduction in prey, they will store extra food in small underground caches to account for this.
After a month of tracking a sporadic and inconsistent trail I managed to find her.
This experience has opened my eyes to the fact that Red Foxes, which are often represented as aggressive and unfriendly animals is a false misconception of what they really are; compassionate and shy. Heavily hunted in the past they are incredibly cautious. While fox hunting was banned under the Hunting Act in the U.K.,shooting foxes as a classified pest still remains lawful...
