When creating professional portraits, it’s not only about how someone looks. It’s about showing something about who they are and how they want to be seen.

The hot weather we’ve been having recently is a good reminder that summer family sessions don’t have to take place in the middle of the day.

I always recommend choosing an early morning or evening session. The temperatures are much more comfortable, the light is softer, and children have the freedom to run, play and simply enjoy being together.

These are often the moments that become the most treasured photographs.
