My work ranges from £50 to £500 and is often put together from my ‘Fly on the Wall’ photography, commissioned photography (eg. weddings, special birthdays or family events), o

r it can be as easy as supplying old prints (that I digitally copy and return), JPG imagery that is emailed or sent through the post on USB cards or photographic memory sticks. A boxedin retirement gift for my oldest friend Ronnie Griffin, who I have known since I was five years old (I’m now 65).

We went to his retirement party three weeks ago, at his house in Nuneaton, and I decided to take my digital SLR Canon camera and take pics of all his family and friends.

The picture montage was put together in four groups of nine (3x3 pics), and then saved as high res JPGs and printed from my iPhone to my Canon 7x5 photo printer. All pics are held in by solid silver pins and I finished it off by hanging a solid silver and colour enamelled fish charm in the bottom righthand corner, which I’d bought in Turkey over 30 years ago. This is another interpretation of his favourite pastime ’Fishing’, for which he intends on doing a lot more of.

Happy retirement Ron, you deserve it, especially after working from the age of eleven, as a hood carrier on a building site. 55 years is a long time, and you now need to enjoy some of the things and holidays you’ve always yearned for, but never had the time…

life is too short otherwise.

(Spring, Summer, Autumn, Winter @ Herne Hill Velodrome)

My latest completed commission and it couldn’t have been a better one, as it’s based on my spiritual home (Herne Hill Velodrome).

One of the fab coach’s who follows me (and visa versa), had saved graphic and fly-on-the-wall images of mine taken over the last few years at HHV, as well as taking her own fab images whilst coaching there. She then asked me if I’d put a montage together using both sets of images as the starting point.

The result is this awesome 36 pic gridded square montage, depicting the four seasons of Spring (3x3 images in the top left), Summer (3x3 images in the top right - the racing season), Autumn (3x3 images in the bottom left), and Winter (3x3 images in the bottom right), of the oldest Velodrome in the world.

All pics are held in place with solid silver pins and there is a gold wax seal and tag, in the top right, showing that it is a ‘One off’ piece (a red wax seal depicts a limited edition or series). A silver plated camera charm dangles in the bottom right, as a symbol of our collaboration.

Thanks 🙏🏻, it was an honour to do this for you and to combine our fab observations through the years and seasons of such an iconic place.

What a truly awesome commission I’ve just had and it was delivered at the end of last week!

A joint 50th and 18th birthday at the one and only Herne Hill Velodrome and I was asked to do all the photography, including a Women’s Track Cycling Session, and then the party in the Grandstand clubroom afterwards.

These pics were then to be used for a Boxedin Memory box montage. I took over 450 pics and it was truly fab picking approximately 140 to go in a ‘One off’ boxed frame.

No images were presented to Holly, my client until the montage was complete within the box frame. I also gave her a ‘Screen save’ and a WeTransfer of all the images taken. I’m pleased to say she loved it, and it was being presented to her daughter Myfanwys on her 18th Saturday 17th August, just gone!… I wonder what she thought🤔💭🩵🤍❤️💙🖤?

A Boxedin 21st Birthday ‘One off’ gift for a special boy, now clearly a man through and through.

From my perspective, a chance to create and give him a unique memory box of our latest holiday to Mallorca (which I know meant the world to him).

The 3D box frame included a gridded montage of images I’d taken, made into master JPGs created on the Mac, then printed on my Mini Canon photo printer. All prints were held in place with solid silver loop pins.

The centre piece (apart from my fit son🤣), is a dangling silver chain, featuring a miniature solid silver charm depicting the red Vespa he loved hiring for four days, that gave him a chance to spread his wings and live the dream of a perfect holiday on tour with the Isons.❤️💛❤️

Great memories that can now be cherished for a lifetime.

A Boxedin request (and commission), to create a third framed montage to match the two wedding gifts I created for our good friends Victoria & Lars.

The brief was to create a montage from their official photographer’s pics, to match the scale, style and frame size/colour of the two boxed frames that were created from the pictures I took on the day, as a guest. Victoria’s thought was, that it would be a gift to her now husband Lars, and that she’d like a smaller version of the same image montage, for her beloved mother, as a unique Christmas present.

Both were delivered on time, but with the busy and frantic life Victoria leads, I’m yet to know the outcome of either gift. Needless to say, that the pics I had to create the montage were truly gorgeous and it was an honour to be asked to create a third boxed frame that completed the Triptych of Boxedin frames and a scaled down version for her mother. The ephemera that completed the third boxed frame was her hand made sequin and bead based har clips, which matched her beautiful embroidered and flower themed dress (as did their whole wedding).

Thank you Victoria, you are a fab friend, a great customer and even an amazing ambassador of my boxes. 🙏🏻❤️Cx

1 wedding, 2 boxedin montages, a base of scattered dried flower petals, gathered from the eco friendly confetti, thrown on the day, 143 images chosen from over 550 pics I took on the day, and over 156 solid silver pins holding all the images in place…
and the result…
A SUPER HAPPY COUPLE that were full of thanks, appreciation and phrase when they were presented with them.

A special wedding present that doesn’t come much more meaningful and unique than these. If only I could bottle their reaction to the two pieces, as they were revealed. It was an honour to not only take all the pics, but to then put together these two ‘One off’ pieces that tell a multitude of stories, that are truly priceless.

The first ordered A3 framed ‘Herne Hill Velodrome, the home of track cycling’ poster, after selling the A2 framed poster in my two day ‘Artists Open House’ exhibition, only moments after it opened in the Grandstand at HHV itself.

It is all the more special, because it was ordered by Mr & Mrs Wright, the parents of none other than Fred Wright, the Pro cyclist that rides for Bahrain Victorious and he’s also just become the British National Champion. His father Phil, also coaches at Herne Hill and is one of the reasons the place is sooooooooooooo special.

My latest boxedin commission:

A 50x50cm sq (and 60mm deep), 70th Birthday present ‘Memory box’ for my client’s sister… and apparently she loved it, when it was unveiled under a sheet covered easel at her party.

There are over 200 printed images, recaptured from old prints and supplied digital jpg files, held in place by 120 solid silver pins. The 3D boxed frame also features a silver plated ‘snow flake’ which represents ‘uniqueness’, and there are also four female figures positioned on the base, depicting her sister’s love of running, netball, badminton and golf, as well as an exact, scaled, mini replica of her sister’s first car, an MGB GT in deep blue!

The montage also incorporates her sister’s initials, her age (70), and a kiss in the bottom righthand corner, made up from my own images.

A MASSIVE Thank You 🙏🏻 to Bex, my client, who commissioned me to do this memory box, and for all the time and effort she too, put into obtaining (and painting), the figures and sourcing the car, I knew we could find!
