As I wandered through its streets, I eventually came across this quiet garden tucked beneath the towering presence of York Minster. It felt like two different worlds sharing the same space—one peaceful and intimate, the other built to inspire awe. Some places never truly sleep. Long after the last footsteps fade and the sea claims the silence, the lighthouse continues its endless vigil. The old boathouse stands weathered by salt and time, while the beam cuts through the darkness as it always has—as if its keeper never abandoned the post.
Legends say every lighthouse has two guardians: the one who tended the flame, and the one who remained after the flame was no longer needed.

🌆 "Vermilion Hymn" 🌆

For centuries, these streets have witnessed ordinary days and extraordinary moments alike.

The church tower has stood watch over changing generations, while the colourful facades below have welcomed fishermen, travellers, and locals returning home. History is woven into every stone and narrow street.

Then, for a few fleeting minutes, the sky took its turn to leave its mark — painting this old town in shades of crimson and gold.
