My friend from , an extraordinary artist and craftswoman, created a powerful project called Arwen for her university course. Each participant was invited into her studio to design a totem that reminded them of a special place: a home, a trip, a memory that shaped who they are.
I had the honour of documenting this journey, capturing not only the process of the documentary filming but also the candid moments of reflection, emotion, and connection. And, of course, a few portraits of Elena herself, because every artist deserves to be seen in her own light.
What I love most about projects like this is how they remind us that our stories and identities are worth celebrating and preserving. Photography does exactly that: it gives us something to hold on to.
If you’ve ever thought “I wish I could see myself in a different light”, that’s exactly what I do through my portrait sessions. Your story is worth telling too.
