Beat:Cancer Festival 2.0

Here we go! Beat:Cancer Festival 2.0!
Despite a near 2 hour delay to to a perfect storm of issues, a great night was had and a butt-load of money was raised by all involved.

But, on a personal note, this is now looking to be my final bit of photography for the foreseeable future. So, I hope you enjoy these shots!

What's this? 2 gig shoots this year? I might be getting back into the swing of it...

Beat:Cancer brought their game to Manchester again this year, and with them we got The Luddite Collective, Witch of the Vale, Sidewalks and Skeletons, Zeitgeist Zero, and E.S.A.!

Taking a break from my hiatus, I decided to take my camera along to Analogue Trash's 10th birthday party, where they showcased a number of bands on their roster.

It's been a bit quiet on the Oh, Shi! front for a while, you may have noticed.
I've been taking it very chill for now, but I have a few shoots lined up. Some I'll be able to show you, others I can't.
Until then... I'm sure I'll see some of you at the same events :D

Woo! The end of the Beat:Cancer Winter Tour!
And what an end it was, at London's Slimelight, with a brilliant turn out, helping to kick cancer's arse.

The final gig in Sirus's UK tour (I'm really gonna miss them - t was such a blast getting to know and hang out with them), and we were headlined by the fantastic Xenturion Prime.
Joining them for this final night were - no strangers to the Beat:Cancer cause - Paresis and Vieon. And, never failing to mention DeathBoy.

Splitting the second week into 2 albums, and in this one, Beat:Cancer went to Bristol!
A late start due to many circumstances outwith a lot of control meant only 2 of the billed support bands were able to join Sirus on stage.
Here we had DrakenWerks and Ruinizer!

While at Infest, one of my friends wanted to model her brand new corset, custom made by the wonderful Zhyon.
So, set up a single flash that I had with me, and with the help of another friend - the other model in this little shoot - we got a couple of shots.

Model work is not something I have much experience in, but it's definitely something I want to do more of.

And so begins the winter tour of Beat:Cancer. For this tour, Australian industrial band Sirus came half way around the world to entertain us!

Starting on the Friday in Reading, we were treated to Laurie Black, HER DESPAIR, and Goteki.
And on the Saturday in Sheffield, they were joined by Cease2Xist, Method Cell, and iszoloscope.

This weekend heralds the last of my gig photography for the foreseeable future, as I take an extended hiatus and branch out a bit.

However, who is all going to the Beat:Cancer gigs with Sirus? Who will I see there?

For many personal reasons, this year saw me take very few photos of only a tiny handful of the bands, with no headliners, or any at all on the Sunday.

However, here are some photos of Grave Diggers Union, Zeitgeist Zero, DEF NEON, Flesh Eating Foundation, and Adam is a Girl (as well as one of Sentinel Manchester's Max Speed)

Petrol Hoers

Petrol Hoers

Last weekend saw me following Neonsol and Freakangel around a few venues. One in London, then another in Reading, before finishing off in Manchester for the weekend. All in the name of kicking cancer's arse with Beat:Cancer.

At each date of the tour, we were joined by some other great acts. In London, we had Mr Beat:Cancer's own D.E.P Music's debut gig, alongside the great Room 1985 . Both of who have just released albums. Seriously go check them out!
In Reading, the crowd bore witness to the indescribable Petrol Hoers (not because they can't be described, but because it's best that I don't), and longstanding Beat:Cancer supporters, Nature of Wires.
Finally, in Manchester, we were treated to an extended set by Glasgow's Advance, with their first gig since the birth of their children.

It was a fantastic weekend, and utterly exhausting (in a good way).
I hope to see you all in the coming Winter tour with Australia's Sirus
