ππ Meet Sunghoon from South Korea!
Sunghoon is studying Business Administration at the University of Oregon and is currently majoring in Operations and Business Analytics (OBA) while minoring in Economics. Reflecting on his first year in the USA and the opportunities available at the University of Oregon, he shares:
"I chose the University of Oregon because of its competitive business school rankings, differentiated faculty, the advantage of a quota system that allows me to take more classes and credits than other universities, and the opportunity to network with alumni working across various business fields. During my first year, I took a variety of business, economics, and math courses, which helped me identify my interests and choose Operations and Business Analytics and Economics as my areas of focus.
The University also offers several programs specifically for business students, including BizArc, Flight School, Braddock Tutoring, and Class Encore. These programs provide academic support, mentorship opportunities, and the chance to connect with other students pursuing similar goals. As an international student, I have enjoyed being part of a diverse community and learning alongside people from different backgrounds across the United States and around the world.
After finishing my first year, I feel that I have had truly diverse experiences with people and have grown even further. Beyond academics, I learned how to solve problems on my own, communicate with others, and make the most of opportunities through club activities and office hours. Thanks to the international student-friendly campus atmosphere, I was able to adapt well, live safely, and gain confidence in my future goals. I am excited to continue my journey and see what the future holds."
