Parallax Photographic Coop

Parallax Photographic Coop A workers cooperative based in South London selling film and photographic supplies. We are Parallax Photographic. We sell film, paper, chemistry and more.

You can shop online or visit our store in Brixton. Founded as a cooperative in 2016, Parallax Photographic is designed to be a fair and ethical photographic retailer. We have a transparent and inclusive relationship with our customers, suppliers, and partners. It is our intention to support both the community, whose love and passion for photography we share and the industry which depends on the co

ntinued use of traditional photographic technologies. By providing a stable and sustainable supply to our customers we hope to support the use of film, and the love of photography, well into the future. Our shop has moved to an exciting new space in Brixton. We haven’t gone far, it’s only a 3-minute walk away from the old address. Our entrance is next to Brixton Recreation Centre on Brixton Station Road. Walk up the stairs and straight along the walkway. Go through the open gate and you will see our shop. We are open Monday to Friday 10am – 6pm and Saturday 11am – 4pm.

One of the things that makes Ilford HP5 such a great film is how versatile it is. Rate it at 400, and it's reliable and beautifully balanced. Push it to 1600, and it still holds on to plenty of detail in the mid-tones and highlights. Not many films can do that.

Pick up a roll in store or shop online.

The South Bank undercroft on Ilford HP5 Plus 400.

There's a reason Ilford HP5 is everyone's go-to black and white film. Reliable in any situation, with that classic grain that just feels right.

The roll is back! We shot Lucky 200 on an Olympus mju II along the Thames at Blackfriars. High contrast, punchy saturation, and shadows that hold up well.

Want an easy way to try cyanotype printing?

Our Cyanotype Paper is a great introduction to the process. The pack contains sheets of pre-coated light-sensitive paper that will produce blue images when you expose it to sunlight.
