I didn't always start out in cinematography.
In fact, at the sunny age of 18, I finished high school as a barber. It wasn't until I experienced the big lights and vastness of the US was I handed a camera and asked to direct and film a music video, that i fell in love with all things from the lens. That experience set me up for a life behind the camera. No turning back. First, as a wedding photographer, then into family photography. Then, into videography for charities, companies, start-ups, and elite fashion. I found my footing into what life had called me to be, but there was more. The ability to communicate narrative and storytelling through film always peaked my interest, and I had a thirst for it.
I decided to dive head first into a programme at in Garden / Ealing Studios, London. My second chapter in videography turned, and cinematography began. I loved it all. The scripts, the artistic nature of portraying characters, and atmosphere through lighting, sound, camera angles, and impactful acting. It absolutely had me captured. Now, all the skills and experience I had gained over the years from that first music video are channelled into filmmaking. And what's more, supporting others in filmmaking.
Every project that I'm invited into brings excitement and anticipation. I embrace everything and everyone I meet. I now dabble in acting and have even created an app for budding actors .tracker
If I could tell my 18 year-old self what now would look like, I wouldn't believe it. I love this creative life, and im so privileged to do and be Raden Films. Get in touch, I would love to support your project. Here's to more lights, camera, action π¬ππ
