In March I headed to Belize for the first time. I’m not sure Belize is a place you shoot as much as it’s a place that slowly teaches you to look again.

Flying over the Blue Hole, I remember putting the camera down for a few minutes, not because I didn’t want the shot, but because it almost like a shame to just see it through a viewfinder.

Inland, it’s different. Slower. For example standing in a cacao grove with a farmer, camera in hand, but just listening, watching, understanding his story. Same with the jungle rivers, winding through thick green forests as for as the eye ca see. You start to realise the best moments aren’t always the ones you plan to capture.

And then the ruins. Rising out of the forest, you frame the shot, of course you do. But it’s the feeling of being there that stays with you more than the image.

I came back with photos I’m proud of. But more than that, I came back reminded that sometimes being a better photographer is just about knowing when not to take the shot.

Just back from Las Vegas… and once again reminded that this city is far more than the Strip. Beyond the neon, there’s a far deeper story here: landscapes that stun, from the fiery rock formations of Valley of Fire to the vast desert of Red Rock Canyon and a history that stretches back hundreds of years.

Then there’s the food. Not just good for a casino city, genuinely world-class, with standout restaurants in every direction.

Vegas might be famous for its lights, but its real appeal goes well beyond them for anyone willing to look.

Just back from… Belize 🇧🇿

A few weeks ago I headed south from the familiar Caribbean coastlines and into a quieter side of Belize, the places that don’t always make the brochures.

Like the Toledo District, where the country feels wilder and incredibly raw. I spent time learning about cacao and Maya traditions, walked in Rio Blanco National Park and hiked through dense jungle to Tiger Cave, where the forest feels ancient and completely untouched.

It’s the kind of travel I always enjoy most, fewer crowds, more meaningful connections and landscapes that still feel genuinely remote.

Belize has plenty of well-known highlights, that are definitely worth seeing. Places like the Blue Hole and Caracol. But it’s the lesser-visited districts that reveal a very different side of the country.

A new country for me… hello, Belize 🇧🇿

First impressions? Lush, raw and quietly beautiful. This trip is all about going beyond the obvious and exploring the lesser-visited corners of the country.

Day 1 took me south from Belize City into the Toledo District, a part of Belize that feels deeply connected to its history. I spent time at a Maya cultural demonstration, learning traditions that are still very much alive, before heading into the rainforest.

Rio Blanco National Park and its dense jungle and that constant soundtrack of the wild. Then it was on to Tiger Cave — a proper hike through thick forest, the kind where the humidity hits and you feel like you’ve really earned the view.

An amazing first day… and a reminder that Belize has so much more to offer beyond the usual beach scenes.

Have you heard of the island of Lānaʻi? This is one of the most remote and beautiful islands of Hawai’i.

Think red dirt roads, empty beaches and a kind of quiet that’s hard to find in the big islands of Hawai’i now days. No rush, no crowds, just space to slow down, look closer and let the island do the talking.

Could this be the most beautiful place on Earth? 🌺
Moloka’i doesn’t just look different, it feels different. No traffic lights. No mega resorts. Just wild cliffs that plunge into the Pacific, waterfalls that tumble through untouched valleys, and locals who still live by aloha, not algorithms.

This is the island where you’ll find beauty not in perfection, but in quiet and that’s what makes Molokai truly unforgettable. 🌊💚

🎥 Watch the full reel and see why this island stays with you long after you’ve left.

How to use scale in landscape photography 🏔️📸

1. Add a human element 👣
Including a person instantly gives viewers a sense of how vast or dramatic a landscape really is.

2. Use objects for comparison 🌲
Place trees, vehicles, or buildings within your frame to show proportion and depth.

3. Shoot from a distance 📐
Step back to capture both your subject and its surroundings. This helps reveal true scale.

4. Play with perspective 🎯
Wide-angle lenses exaggerate size differences, while telephoto lenses compress distance for creative effects.

5. Highlight layers 🌄
Compose with foreground, midground, and background elements to build depth and dimension.

🌺 Is Kaua’i the most beautiful of the Hawaiian Islands? 🌴

From mist-covered mountains to waterfall-filled valleys, Kaua’i feels like nature is just showing off. 🌈 Whether it’s hiking the Nā Pali Coast, swimming under secret cascades, or flying above those emerald ridges, it seriously isn’t an exaggeration to say that every corner feels like a cover shot.

But what do you thin? Is Kauai the most beautiful island in Hawaii? 👀

🎥 Watch the full reel to see why Kauai might just steal your heart and fill your phone’s storage. 💚

Quick post-production fixes that will improve your travel photos 💻📸

1. Straighten your horizons 🌊
A tilted horizon is distracting - fix it with the crop/straighten tool in seconds.

2. Tweak exposure & contrast ☀️
A slight lift in brightness and contrast can make your image pop instantly.

3. Boost Colors Subtly 🎨
Increase vibrance to enhance colors without making them look fake.

4. Sharpen the details 🔍
Add a touch of clarity or sharpening to bring out textures in landscapes and architecture.

5. Remove distractions ✂️
Clone out or crop dust spots, wires, or photo-bombers that pull focus from your subject.
