and I really found our feet as producers while making these tunes and had the best time playing around in our little home studio (aka a dedicated corner in our living room / kitchen)🎙️

Much love to the talented for round 2 of our music collaborations, adding his magic as co-producer and mixer 🪄

It was a joy creating the artwork and visuals again for my own project, combining my love for images and sounds. Swipe to see me next to the fortune teller who ended up on the EP cover as a symbol for the concepts it dips into. Hypnotic, spellbinding, spiritual, sometimes supernatural - it’s a sensory thing. This EP goes out to the crystal ball gazers 🔮🥂

Extremely grateful and honoured to have been chosen as the Rabo Photographic Portrait Talent winner 2022 by the Dutch National Portrait Gallery! 🥂💐 Still can’t quite believe it.. what a way to end the year!

Many thanks to everyone from Dutch National Portrait Gallery and Rabobank for organising this award and the continuous support of new artistic talent, and of course Depot Boijmans van Beuningen for hosting the wonderful exhibition and awards ceremony! ✨

I had an amazing few days celebrating the opening of the Foam Talent 2022 exhibition! ❤️ It was a very surreal experience to showcase such a personal project and be able to share my story with others. I feel very grateful for everyone who joined me at the opening weekend and who came to the Talent Conversation talks and tours today. It was very lovely to see so many new and familiar faces, from family to friends, fellow artists and kind visitors.

My project ‘Words From Dad’ will be on display at until January and after that will travel elsewhere. I’m excited to share more on that soon! 🧧

Many thanks again to the team for giving me this wonderful and unique opportunity and big congratulations to all the other selected artists of this year’s edition! 🎉🥂

Over the moon to announce that I have been selected as one of this year’s 20 Foam Talents! 💫

You can order a copy of Foam Magazine #61 Talent Issue now!

Featured in this issue is my ongoing series ‘Words From Dad’ that explores my Chinese heritage. With the use of archival images from my own family albums, I trace back my mixed roots through my grandfather’s life stories, as told by my dad.

Wonderful to see my work in print alongside that of many great artists and writers!

Here are some snippets of a few pages, including a beautiful and evocative accompanying essay written by Sunil Shah.

You can read more about ‘Words From Dad’ on my website and in the Talent Issue 🤍
