A massive thank you to Patricia for inspiring me with this image she took and for letting me "copy" it aaaaand not only that, she modelled for me for my version!
Patricia's original image instantly caught my eye.
As a Londoner, I know this view. I've both seen this view and been this view. This image epitomises the feeling of getting off a busy London street, on to a busy London bus, and falling into your own bubble for a moment of peace - just watching the busy world pass by. I literally heard an advert for noise cancelling headphones (where there's just noise all around and it fades to silence), in my head when I saw this.
For my version, and a part that also caught my eye in Patricia's, was the angle of the face that you see. Just the curves of the face. So beautiful. So subtle. There's a softness without seeing any direct features. That's where I focused for my image. And thankfully Patricia was kind enough to pose for me.
I love seeing the two images side by side. They have such different feelings to them. With both the context and model being different, it creates completely different emotion.
What do you think of the two images?

I’m a little obsessed with texture and shape. The way a shoulder tilts or how petals fold in—
those tiny details pull me in every time.

I paint with shadows, shape with light, and find stories in the smallest lines—on faces and petals alike.

It’s always the tiniest details that end up being the most honest.

True art lives where light meets imperfection—and where detail becomes emotion.

Photographing people and flowers reminds me that nothing has to be loud to be powerful. Stillness can speak volumes.

The way a flower opens mirrors the way we do—slowly, vulnerably, fully.

There’s a quiet language in how we hold ourselves—and how flowers bloom.

To me, photography is listening with the eyes. Human or flower, I wait for that whispered truth.
