The Werkstatt - meaning workshop in German – is a show-case for the whole Sto Group and a new east London cultural establishment with a lively program of exhibitions, talks, workshops and consultations. Samples resource in Clerkenwell London
A full range of Sto Group’s products are at the Werkstatt for architects to play and create with, including glass and rendered rainscreen cladding, seamless a

coustics, facade elements and photo catalytic interior paint coating. There to help realise your ideas
The building is intended to be all about communication and collaboration, a place for encounter and inspiration, a place of creativity: the new “Werkstatt” of the Sto group. If there is truth in the phrase “the objective of all communication is cooperation”, then the Werkstatt is the place where this process should begin, where a coming together is transformed into exchange, where the exchange is part of the creative process. Global presence, local knowledge
The Werkstatt also extends out from it’s hub in Clerkenwell to offer connections to Sto’s international network of technical experts with local and global knowledge. The Werkstatt is a workshop for international designers and architects to meet, hear, see, be inspired, play and create

with Manijeh Verghese and Madeleine Kessler, co-curators of the British Pavilion 2021

Kieran Long, Director of ArkDes, Stockholm

The debate asks ‘What are the interplays and challenges of cultural identity and history as it affects the design process, materiality and final forms of architecture?’.

Panellists will explore the impact of design on the intended community and the public at large, discussing the call from Hashim Sarkis, Curator of the Biennale Architettura 2021, to ‘imagine spaces in which we can generously live together [and] the vital role of the architect as both cordial convener and custodian of the spatial contract’.
