Movement shows itself in so many different ways. commissioned me recently to document the creation of the player of the year trophies at the workshop just outside of London. I had the pleasure of watching some incredibly talented silversmiths move with the grace and preciseness of a dancer. Every movement was choreographed for a purpose or an effect. It was a pleasure to spend time with them working their craft and to watch this magnificent creation come together.

Right at the end of last year I had the pleasure of spending 3 hours getting utterly soaked in the rain for the greater good of ... and myself headed down to tell the story of the showpiece of the year, being played out in an empty Twickenham. Rules, rules and more rules were in place to make this happen. It was a truly surreal experience looking through the camera to watch the action, to only realise that the surroundings were deathly quiet with no fans in attendance. My job was to share that experience of the space, the emptiness and the emotions ... with a s**t ton of rain thrown in for good measures!

Recently I had the incredible opportunity to work with my friends at The Worldwide Tribe on a series of portrait studies for Black History Month.

I was honoured to have The Black Curriculum in my studio for a few hours, it was amazing to learn about the work they are putting in to collectively address the lack of Black British History being taught in the UK.

Below is their mission statement -

The Black Curriculum is a social enterprise founded in 2019 by young people to address the lack of Black British history in the UK Curriculum. We believe that by delivering arts focused Black history programmes, providing teacher training and campaigning through mobilising young people, we can facilitate social change.
Our programmes are for all young people aged 8-16 and aims to equip young people with a sense of identity, and the tools for a diverse landscape. We are working towards changing the national curriculum and building a sense of identity in every young person in the UK.

Frank and me are now back in working from my Haggerston studio full time as from today. It’s been a busy couple of months shooting several ads, lots of editorial and even more personal work ... so what better time to ramp it up even more than by being in the place I’m most productive!
