Hi and welcome to all the new followers gathered up after Wild London. Thanks so much for all the kind comments about the show and yes, what a brilliant way to start 2026. It’ll be tough to beat 2025 but I’ll try my best.

I have a love-hate relationship with Instagram these days but I’m still on it and will attempt to post a little more about what I’m up to as I enjoy seeing what others are up to in amongst all the crap that gets thrown our way.

I’m a stills photographer at heart, I’ve been at it for nearly 30 years. I grew up on film and spent endless hours in darkrooms processing and making my own prints. I still make my own prints, at home digitally but the craft element is still there. I always wanted to make a living doing what I love. I’ve struggled with confidence along the way but stuck at it and have had incredible support from friends and family. I’m also aware of my privilege and never take that for granted. The past 10 years I’ve pivoted towards film, stills commissions are harder to come by and I’ve got great mileage out of foxes (an animal I grew up with in north London and love) and made several films including for and recently with for Wild London.

I like telling stories about humans and non-human animal connections, encounters and coexistence and I was recently made and Associate Fellow of the International League of Conservation Photographers

I now make a living doing what I love but spend most of my time complaining.

I hope you enjoy the selection of images from various projects over the years.

xMatt

In June 2025, I had the pleasure of working with Sir David Attenborough on Wild London, a documentary produced by exploring the remarkable ways wildlife adapts and thrives in the capital. I was responsible for filming the fox sequence, telling the story of a family living on an allotment and the trials and tribulations they face to survive in a city.

Sir David also visited the allotment in my neighbourhood to present to camera, and we were fortunate to capture some wonderful moments of him interacting with a young fox. Sharing this special place—so meaningful to me and many others—with an icon of wildlife television was an absolute treat.

Wild London can be viewed today 1/1/26 on at 6:30pm and on

Huge thanks to everyone who worked on this.

I always release a podcast on Boxing Day so here it is. Hope you’ve all enjoyed the festive period. Big thanks to all the Patreon supporters this year, you’ve helped to keep it going. Happy New Year to you all.

Next on the pod is Kev Morgans. is a multi award-winning wildlife photographer, guide, and conservation storyteller specialising in the seabirds and wild coastlines of the British Isles. Best known for his work with Atlantic puffins and his book Puffins: Life on the Atlantic Edge, Kev uses powerful imagery to inspire connection, awareness, and protection of the natural world.

His work is rooted in respect for nature, always placing the welfare of wildlife first and working with a strong ethical approach in the field. Through authentic,
story-driven imagery, Kev aims to reveal not just what
wildlife looks like, but how it lives, survives, and adapts in some of the UK’s most remote and challenging environments.

We talk about Kev’s sharp rise to becoming a full time photographer, the pressure that brings, forgetting tents and his penchant for cheese toasties!
