for the world we knew, is on fire…

in early february, the wonderful artist svenja ( ) and I were introduced by our mutual friend, camille.

and almost instantly, here our connection, creative journey and friendship began.

svenja had arranged a photoshoot with ebla (who she had also met days prior) and invited me along for the ride, knowing I hadn’t picked up my camera in nearly a month and desperately sought inspiration.

after our car broke down several times along the winding mountainous roads, we finally began.

snapping away at our muse, as behind us, the once smokey mountain, birthed a fire.

whether accidental or deliberate, the flames grew just as swiftly as our friendship began.

frightening yet mesmerising we couldn’t look away - helpless, as the fire continued to reign and the smoke fervently rise into the night sky.

thoughts on the Nikon Z30:
I mainly use this camera for vlogs and content creation videos so wanted to test it out at to see how it faired in a fast paced environment as a stills camera as opposed to a video camera. I won’t lie, at first I was struggling with the Z30 as I couldn’t see if my images were sharp or not as it doesn’t have a view finder. So taking a lot of these images felt like a gamble and I felt defeated at times but I was so pleasantly surprised at how sharp and beautiful the images came out once I was able to view them on my computer. I’ll definitely be using this camera again for event photography! 😍💥
