We are excited to announce a brand-new film festival called CineMediterra Film Festival, dedicated to showcasing Mediterranean cinema. Our inaugural event will take place on April 5-6 at Hackney Picturehouse in London, with a special focus on Turkish cinema.

Umut, who was born mute but not deaf, is a young man living with his mother Leyla in a poor neighbourhood of İstanbul. Umut, recently feeling that there’s something strange going on with Leyla, starts to follow her secretly and finds out that she meets with a man.

Following the screening, attendees are welcome to join us for a unique opportunity to sit down in discussion with Turkish director Barış Hancıoğulları. Come and learn from his experience of writing and directing his first feature-length film and find out what he is currently working on.
