Ryan Shotison

Ryan Shotison London based photographer that shoots models and musicians. My experiences with being a self-taught photography has provided quite an interesting journey.

From first shooting free gigs at little venues, to shooting down the front in front of some legendary artists, to working with models and creating creative shots with them. Over the years my list of equipment has also grown, with many lighting options and lenses at my disposal. A lot of experimenting plus trial and error over the years means I have a lot of versatility and the ability to craft a wide array of looks and emotions in my work. Ryan Shotison

What is Shotison Media?

Shotison Media was founded by photographer and graphic designer, Ryan Whitwell, at the end of 2015. Beginning as a simple hobby based around shooting live bands, Ryan gradually moved into crafted photoshoots using a wide array of equipment and lighting techniques as well as continuing to experiment with advanced photography techniques with the aim of offering incredible and unique images for musicians.

Ryan’s aim has always been to promote rock, metal and other alternative music scenes through powerful visual media as these subcultures continue to grow. That aim hasn’t changed since Ryan founded Shotison Media which has lead to a clear direction in which he continues to head. When that clarity is combined with Ryan’s dedication to quality and ever-expanding experience, Ryan’s popularity among the metal and alternative scenes has grown. Ryan/Shotison is the official photographer for London’s Bloodstock Metal 2 the Masses competition, has had work appear in Devolution Magazine, Heatwave Magazine, Metal-Rules.com, TheIndependentVoice.org and Moshville.com, and has had work appear on band merchandise.
