You only have to take a single glance at those ears to know that Lorenzo is a Papillon 🦋 but did you know that Papillons can also occur without their butterfly ears? And that this type, with its completely dropped ears, is known as a Phalene 🐾

✍🏻 The main man Raz has just returned from not one but two trips to London, mega thanks to for the invite, and it was nothing short of magical 🥰 now don’t get me wrong I adore shooting the countryside and coastline where I live, but urban shooting in an actual city really allowed me to get so much more creative!

There’s a whole lot of Raz going on in my life right now because we’re actually in the middle of organising the launch of .and.co !! (Of course by we I mean me, with the help of my four legged sidekicks and a sprinkling of input from my Nan…)

I will come back to this photo tomorrow on my stories to show a little bit of the work it took to get to the final image because gosh it did not look like this to start with! I know there are some folk out there who expect the straight out of camera to be perfect, and I respect that, but for me there is so much love for the magic that goes on within photoshop layers 🩷

I think it’s safe to say at this point that 2025 is not my year 🫣 I fell over two weeks ago whilst up on Dartmoor, and I know what you’re imagining - a strenuous hike over rugged terrain, but actually I fell over my own foot on the flat stretch back to the car 😂. So I’ve been on crutches ever since and actually today is the first day I’ve managed some walk steps (albeit with no load on my ankle!). But I’m trying to make lemonade out of the situation by having a great time going back through my archives and editing images that have never seen the light of day, and some updates to those that are perhaps not in keeping with my current workflow!

So if you find yourself wondering why there’s suddenly a flurry of activity by me on social media over the coming days/weeks, well I’m just trying to put my rest to some use 🩷 (and resurrect this dormant account!)

Some of you may have noticed things have been awfully quiet around here this year, and you’d be right life has taken me on quite a journey so far in 2025, but I am back with quite a few giant changes afoot…

Let’s start at the beginning, although feel free to scroll on by this could get long. Well firstly, I quit my PhD 😱 it was probably the biggest and scariest decision I’ve ever made but it was a necessary one! Sad as it is that I’m not going to be a ‘Rock Doctor’ (or at least not right now), I have escaped academia with a small bit of my wellbeing intact which really is the most important thing.

So what do you plan to do with your life now Lil? I hear you ask, well that’s simple, I want to fill my days photographing your beautiful dogs (I might even sneak a few horses in along the way). I’ve got some super cool personal projects on the go, and most importantly I can now give 100% of my brainpower to the business which I’ve never been able to do before ❤️

I’ve also been hard at work furthering my skill set through , as things stand I’m halfway through S**t Hot Shots Bootcamp, I’ve got an awesome retreat booked with them in March next year, and I’m continuing to use the MTog community to inspire and push me to keep striving for my business goals ✨

I think that’s a brief but needed update, you can expect regular posting from me moving forward, and don’t worry if you no longer see your wonderful dog on the grid, they’ll be back I’m just having a spruce up with watermarks!!

✨ L•O•K•I ✨

Loki is a 9-month-old ball of energy. Did he sit perfectly still all the time? Nope. Did we need him to? Also nope. But I will say his obedience was awesome and he was an absolute credit to his owner!

So if you’ve been holding back from booking a session because you think your dog is “too excitable” or “won’t listen” – don’t stress! We embrace the chaos, and I handle the rest ✨

✨ R•A•Z•Y•L ✨

While everyone else was strutting their stuff at this weekend, we chose a different kind of arena — the wild, open moorland of Dartmoor. ✨🐾 (if you swipe to the end you can learn a little bit more about Raz during one of his many appearances on the famous green carpet 💖)

We set out hoping for golden hour, but the clouds had other plans… and honestly? I’m not even mad about it. That soft pink haze made for the dreamiest backdrop 😍

This shot of Raz, taken at Charmouth, just achieved Silver in The TOG Awards Q4, that’s a score of 85+! 🏆🔥 I cannot thank Jess enough for all she has done organising The Tog Awards and also creating the friendliest family of photographers as she shares her knowledge and craft with us all 💖

Capturing the raw beauty of dogs against the epic backdrop of the Jurassic Coast is something I adore—fitting, since when I’m not behind the camera, I’m actually an Earth Scientist! 🌍

What makes this extra special? Raz isn’t the easiest model—his hearing is limited, and his eyesight isn’t what it used to be. But with patience (and a few tricks), we created something award-worthy! This just proves that ANY dog can have their moment in front of the lens—yes, even the zoomy, the distracted, and the totally chaotic ones!
