A bit late this week, but here we go: time to meet another wonderful greyhound model from the book “Greyhounds & Galgos: Echoes of London” 🖤

Despite looking graceful and composed, every Greyhound and Galgo in my book is an individual. Each has a name, a family, and a story that sits alongside their portrait.

And since so many of you have said that reading about each dog has been one of your favourite parts, I’m sharing one of them here every week in the hope of helping them be seen for who they are, and of helping us hold the gaze on them a little longer.

If you’d like to spend more time with these dogs and their stories, I’m so happy to share that “Greyhounds & Galgos: Echoes of London” is now back in stock and available via the link in my bio, with 50% of the proceeds donated to Project Galgo 🤍

Finally, a huge thank you to Crossness Pumping Station for allowing us to shoot in such an incredible location!

Time for our special book feature, and today you get to meet SPONGEBOB 🖤

Since I forgot to take a video of him on the day of his shoot, here he is in his natural habitat with his super mum .

Plus, it’s his 8th birthday next month!

Every hound in my book “Greyhounds & Galgos: Echoes of London is an individual”. Each has a name, a family, and a story that sits alongside their portrait.

And since so many of you have said that reading about each dog has been one of your favourite parts, I’ll keep sharing one of them here every week, hoping you can not only get to our models, but also see these wonderful dogs under a different light if you don’t know much about them.

If you would like to spend more time with these dogs and their stories, the book Greyhounds & Galgos: Echoes of London is available through the link in bio, with 50% of the proceeds donated to 🤍

Time for our weekly feature 🤍

Every hound in my book “Greyhounds & Galgos: Echoes of London” is an individual.

Since so many of you have said that reading about each dog has been one of your favourite parts, I’ve been introducing one of them here every week.

This week, meet MIMI🖤

The project was never intended to catalogue harm, nor to persuade through guilt. Instead, it asks us to hold the gaze. To see Greyhounds and Galgos beyond performance and beyond pity, and to recognise them as the incredible beings they are: shaped by a long history, carrying their present with them, and still open to a different future.

Ask those questions, message me if you’re shy 🖤

A few answers:
No, your dog doesn’t have to be on lead.
No, your dog doesn’t need to be trained.
Yes, you can be in the photographs, too.
Yes, it’s an early morning one. At least’s it’s not too hot.
No, your dog doesn’t need to be a sighthound.

Five sessions are available this July. Let’s see if we can make those portraits happen.

It’s Tuesday, and you know what that means…

Time to introduce you to another one of our models and survivors 🖤

And our little reminder that every hound featured in my book “Greyhounds & Galgos: Echoes of London” is first and foremost an individual. Each one has a name, a family, and a personal story that lives alongside their portrait.

So many of you have told me that discovering the stories behind the dogs has been one of the most meaningful parts of the book, so I’ve been sharing one here each week since!

This week featured hound is: TAPAS 🖤

This project was never created to raise awareness through suffering, nor to convince through images of abuse. Instead, I hope it invites us simply to hold the gaze a little longer, instead of looking away. To meet Greyhounds and Galgos beyond performance and beyond pity, and to see them for who they are: beings shaped by history, carrying their experiences with them, and still capable of a different future.

If you’d like to spend more time with these dogs and their stories, “Greyhounds & Galgos: Echoes of London” will be back in stock soon, with 50% of proceeds donated to 🤍

One of the most common things people tell me before a session is:

“My dog never looks at the camera.”

Which is usually absolutely fine.
Because I’m much more interested in everything else.

The way they stop to listen to a sound.
The way they watch people passing by.
The way they look at you when you speak to them.

The photos my clients end up loving most are rarely the perfectly posed ones. They’re the ones that feel natural and remind them of what was happening around them on the day.

So if your dog is curious, distracted, independent, reactive, or excitable, we’ll get on just fine.

What do you think your dog would be most interested in on a shoot in London?

It’s Tuesday, and by now we know what that means…

In my book “Greyhounds & Galgos: Echoes of London”, every dog is seen as their own being. Each one carries a name, a home, and a story that sits beside their portrait.

Many of you have told me how much these stories have stayed with you, so I wanted to create a space to share them more regularly. Each week I will introduce one of the dogs from the book.

This week we meet CHESTER 🖤

From the beginning, this work was not about documenting suffering or asking for attention through shock. It is an invitation to look a little longer, and to see Greyhounds and Galgos outside of expectation or pity.

They are shaped by a long and complex history, present in their own lives, and still full of possibility for what comes next.

If you would like to spend more time with Chester and the others, “Greyhounds & Galgos: Echoes of London” is available through the link in bio, with 50% of proceeds going to 🤍

Two dogs and one simple (not so simple) brief: portraits of them just as they are.

Boofie and Maggie couldn’t be more different. And I was warned: Boofie won’t sit still or look regal. He’s obsessed with his frisbee, and his working, playful side is exactly what we wanted to capture.

Maggie is calm and gentle, and we wanted to create some portraits of her before her condition deteriorated, while sh was still active and happy to walk around with her family.

So here they are: one location, one morning, and two very different dogs who make up this beautiful family.

Photography sessions with two dogs from the same household are always so interesting. Sometimes we want to capture them together; other times, it’s almost like two individual shoots, aimed at portraying their unique sides above anything else.

And for these two, it was the latter, especially since Maggie is no longer with us. She joined the family later, after her previous owner passed away, and her wonderful new family decided to adopt her despite knowing she didn’t have much longer left.

Portrait sessions in the same location can look so different. They are always lead by the dog, and each has a side their guardian wants to capture. And this is an example that will always stay with me.

To Maggie and Boofie, just as they are 🤍🖤

This one is for Jane 🤍

So many of you have said that reading about each dog has been one of your favourite parts of the book, so I’m sharing one of them here each week, to give everyone the chance to get to know them a little better.

And this week’s feature is in memory of JANE 🖤

Jane was one of the faces of our project from the very beginning, and never got to sniff her book, having lost her battle with osteosarcoma at the end of last year.

She was once a racer, but that was only one chapter of her life. She was given a second chance by a loving family, where she knew comfort, kindness, and the life every dog deserves.

The project asks us to hold the gaze. To see Greyhounds and Galgos beyond performance and beyond pity, and to recognise them as the beings they are. Shaped by a long history, carrying their present with them, and still open to a different future.

And Jane’s portrait, and her legacy, will help continue that story and inspire others, giving a second chance to hounds like her who are still waiting for safety and a place to call home.

Thank you, Jane. Truly 🤍
