Going back to the old school Instagram of a one frame post for Isabella and Thomas.

The whole day was beautiful, getting ready at before a ceremony at , but I like this one alone because it feels like how they were together - very calm (and elegant). It was a day focused on enjoying time with friends and the small moments - a reassuring hand squeeze from sister to sister during the speeches.

I love that Isabella chose a suit, because it felt like her. So chic. And green shoes, in honour of her grandma’s favourite colour.

This photo of Jess on 35mm film was getting so much love in the stories, I just had to post it to the grid, along with a selection of others all on 35mm film too.

I’ve had a few intro calls with couples undecided on or not knowing what film photography was. For most of my weddings, digital is the main story, giving all the reliable coverage of the day (the moments you can’t recreate) and the film is the extra nostalgic element on top.

To explain the basics - it’s photographed on a roll of film, developed and scanned back. For people my age (‘millennials’), it’s what the majority of our childhood birthdays, summers and holidays are on, before digital appeared. The nature of film photography slows you down, makes you more selective and intentional - and I really love it because I find more feeling in the results.

I think it’s resurfaced in popularity because it’s the opposite to all this quick and perfect content, with ai creation. Maybe it feels more honest and more human. Either way - I love it!

Portraits in crumbling courtyards, speeches under the trees, a raspberry millefoglie moment - and Anila eventually getting hold of the microphone despite Ross banning karaoke because, “she won’t give back the mic for 5 hours straight.”

The village church and grandma’s garden - the perfect setting to join the families after meeting at 15.

Jess & William’s day was so elegant without feeling overdone, full of feeling and super personal.

A proper English summer wedding, with all the best bits: classic cars, top hats, soft florals, church bells, champagne in the garden and saxophone on the dance floor.
