I had the whole caldera to myself last week, such peace amongst a sea of yellow Adenocarpus flowers with the Milky Way arching over my head.

Taken with my astro modified Z7ii and planned with . The sky is a 48 image panorama taken using my Polaris. The foreground is focus stacked the same night.

The Milky Way rising over the rugged coast of Provence. It was wonderful to have the night under the stars with the smell of the umbrella pines and the waves lapping at the base of the cliffs. The pretty flowers are a type of Valerian called Jupiter’s Beard (Anthyllis barba-jovis), it was a shame that Jupiter is not currently visible in the night sky to accompany them...

My favourite tree on the Masai Mara…

Arrived for sundowners with a storm brewing on the horizon. Set up the lightning detector and left it running whilst we enjoyed the last of the suns rays (you can see the suns glow on the gnarled trunk). I stayed until the first drops of rain which then poured down, clearing later for some Astro photography - more images to follow…
