One of the biggest privileges of mentoring is watching a photographer reconnect with why they started.

When Roz first came to me, she felt stuck. Imposter syndrome, low confidence, pricing that hadn't moved in years. She felt like she was standing still, and deciding it all alone.

Rather than another quick fix, we worked on the foundations. Her brand, her pricing, her whole approach.

In Roz's own words.

"I've fallen in love with my craft again."
"I don't compare anymore."
"I've found my style and voice."
"The business is growing and I'm excited again to discover what's next."

That's what mentoring is really about, for me. Not just booking more weddings. Building a business you actually believe in, and enjoying the journey again.

If you're feeling stuck, come along to one of my free Thursday webinars. No pressure, no hard sell, just an honest conversation with someone who's been exactly where you are.

One of the biggest misconceptions I hear is, "I don't need a business plan, I'm only a small business."

That's a mindset issue, not a size issue.

Nobody teaches photographers about business. So most of you are winging it. One enquiry comes in. You reply. You photograph a wedding. You edit. You post something on Instagram because you know you should. That's posting and hoping, not a plan.

And then October comes, you catch your breath, and next year's diary is empty.

You don't need a perfect plan. You need a place to start.

Today's challenge. Take 20 minutes and dive straight into your business. Answer these four questions, honestly.

✓ Where am I today?
✓ Where do I want to be in 12 months?
✓ What's stopping me?
✓ What's one thing I can improve this month?

Small actions, repeated consistently, build strong businesses. Not perfect plans. Consistent ones.

Save this post and come back to it when you're planning your next quarter.

You didn't become a wedding photographer to spend your evenings chasing enquiries.
But that's exactly what happens every wedding season. You're out shooting weekends. Editing through the week. And enquiries just sit there.

Not because you don't care. Because you're busy, and that's the job.

This is where automation actually helps. Every couple gets a reply straight away. Your pricing guide goes out without you lifting a finger. Consultations get booked while you're still on a shoot.

It's not about replacing you. It's about making sure nobody's left waiting until you've got five minutes to breathe.

Your business shouldn't stop just because you're at work.

Would instant replies take the pressure off this season? Comment YES or NO.

Most photographers don't lose bookings because they're bad photographers.
They lose them because the enquiry experience breaks down.

A slow reply.
No follow up.
An enquiry that gets buried while you're editing galleries or photographing another wedding.

The truth is, couples aren't just comparing portfolios.

They're comparing the entire experience.

✔️ Who replied first?
✔️ Who made the process easy?
✔️ Who gave them confidence to book?

The good news?

You don't need more enquiries.

You need a better system for handling the ones you already have.

That's why we built Lensello.

Not to replace the personal connection you have with your couples, but to make sure every enquiry receives the attention it deserves, even when you're at your busiest.

Because while you're creating unforgettable wedding days, your business should still be creating tomorrow's bookings.

👇 Which one do you think costs photographers the most bookings?

1️⃣ Slow replies
2️⃣ No follow up
3️⃣ No enquiry system

Wedding season is exactly where you want to be. And it's also where your business quietly stops moving forward.

Right now you're shooting most weekends, editing through the week, keeping every client happy. That's the job, and you're doing it well.

But while you're doing all of that, who's looking after next year?

Couples don't stop getting engaged because you're busy. They're still searching, still comparing, still deciding who to book. If your follow up only happens when you've got a spare five minutes, your business runs on whatever's left of your energy, not on a plan.

That's the whole reason Lensello exists. Not another CRM sitting unused on a dashboard somewhere, but something built specifically for wedding photographers, so enquiries keep moving even when you're behind the camera and can't get to your phone.

Some of you just want everything in one place. Some want the follow up handled automatically. Some want it all set up for you, so there's nothing to figure out. Wherever you are, there's a way into Lensello that fits.

You shouldn't have to work harder to keep up. You should have a business that keeps working, even on your busiest week.

Comment BUSY and we'll send you a walkthrough of how it works.

You can be fully booked and still feel frightened.

That fear has a name. Feast or famine. It's the gap between a great season and an unknown one, and it's the thing keeping you up at night even with a full diary.

Here's something you can do tonight. Message three past couples and ask for a Google review. Five minutes, and it does more for next year's bookings than another hour spent scrolling Instagram wondering what to post.

If you want the bigger picture, I'm running a free live workshop on exactly this.

Busy is not the same as booked for next year.

Every enquiry that goes quiet while you're out shooting a wedding is a couple who might book someone else instead, simply because you weren't there to reply.

Here's the fix. Today, set up one automated message that goes out the second an enquiry lands, even just "thank you, I'll reply properly within 24 hours." It costs nothing and it stops warm leads going cold while you're behind the camera.

I'll show you the rest of the system at my free live workshop.

Being talented was never going to be enough on its own.

You already know this, somewhere. It's why the enquiries that don't convert still bother you weeks later.

So do this. Go back to the last three couples who enquired but didn't book, and simply ask them why. Not to chase them, just to learn. That one question will teach you more about your business than any guide ever could.

I'd love you at my free live workshop, where we go much deeper into this.

Tony spent over a year looking at mentor and business programmes before he made a decision.

Not because he wasn't serious. Because he wanted to be sure it would actually be different this time.

Inside the programme, that's exactly what changed. A proper system for tracking his marketing each week, structure instead of guesswork, and a group of photographers to compare notes with instead of figuring it out alone.

In his own words, "I would highly recommend you join. It would be lovely to start the next journey to success with someone from this group."

If you've been doing the same thing, looking, comparing, circling back every few months, that's not a flaw in your decision making. It just means you haven't had the conversation that makes the decision easier yet.

Swipe through to see what finally made Tony say yes.

If you've been on the fence for a while, let's talk it through. No pressure, link in bio.
