Ever wondered how an aircraft gets away from the gate before taxiing to the runway?

That's where pushback comes in. Since most aircraft can't reverse under their own power safely at the gate, a specialised tug is used to push the aircraft back from the stand before departure.

The pushback process involves close coordination between the flight crew, ground crew, and air traffic control to ensure everything happens safely and efficiently.

💡 Did you know?
A typical pushback can take just a few minutes, but it requires precise communication and teamwork to position the aircraft correctly for taxi.

From connecting the towbar to guiding the aircraft with hand signals, every step plays an important role in getting your flight underway safely.
