🚨 LORRY DRIVER LEFT "STRESSED" AFTER MIGRANTS FOUND INSIDE TRAILER 🚨

A UK haulage company says one of its drivers was left worried and stressed after several migrants were discovered hidden inside the back of a lorry in Kent.

Footage reportedly showed the men banging on the trailer doors and calling to be let out after the vehicle arrived at a depot.

The company says the driver followed procedures and believes security checks carried out before entering the UK should have detected anyone hidden inside the trailer.

🇬🇧 The bigger debate?

Under current rules, drivers and transport companies can face fines of up to **£10,000 per person** found entering the UK illegally inside a vehicle.

Industry groups argue this is unfair, saying professional drivers are being punished for something that is often outside their control.

Others believe strict penalties are necessary to encourage maximum security and reduce illegal entry attempts.

📊 More than 5,800 attempts to hide on UK-bound vehicles were reportedly detected at Channel ports in 2024 alone.

Many in the haulage industry say the real focus should be on tackling criminal smuggling networks rather than penalising drivers who may have no idea someone has entered their trailer.
