I hope everyone had a great weekend.

When conditions are right, there is no better wilder place to photograph than Hermaness NNR, Shetland. Northern gannets are the largest seabird in the North Atlantic, with somewhere between sixty and seventy per cent of the world’s population choosing to nest on the British Isles each year. They nest in locations with big updrafts to assist them when taking off, making the windy stacks and tall cliffs of Shetland ideal. The opportunities this extreme weather offers are hard for a wildlife photographer to resist, although there are times when I question my own sanity. I am not especially afraid of heights, but facing the full brunt of the storm in such a location was an intimidating experience. The abyss I looked down into was awe-inspiring, as was the uncontrollable, immeasurable power of the sea, and this solitary gannet flying across the swell helps show this.

Standing on the shores of Dorset, watching the waves dance through the ancient limestone arch of Durdle Door, you can’t help but feel the power of nature and time. I captured this long exposure with my Sony A7IV, paired with the razor-sharp 50mm 1.4 G Master lens, held steady on my Benro tripod, and balanced with a Tide Optics ND filter to smooth out the sea’s motion.

Located on the iconic Jurassic Coast, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, Durdle Door is over 140 million years in the making. This natural limestone arch was formed by the relentless power of the sea—an ever-changing reminder of Earth’s ancient story.

This shot was a lesson in patience, timing, and working with the elements. The long exposure softened the waves, letting the swirling sea mirror the dreamy skies above. It’s places like this that remind me why I love landscape photography.

If you’ve never been to Durdle Door, add it to your list—it’s a bucket list destination for any UK photographer, traveler, or sea lover.

Super creative use of our Halo Effect filter 😍 Posted • .photos The Lotus 99T famously piloted by Ayrton Senna in 1987. One reason this car is so significant minus the gorgeous yellow camel livery is it bought back computer controlled active suspension. Powered by a Honda RA166-E V6 turbo engine this was the first time Senna and Honda partnered up on track cementing the way for Senna and Honda’s legendary alliance. Senna drove the 99T to victory at Detroit and Monaco and finished 3rd in that years F1 World Drivers Championship.
The 99T is available to see at Lotus Mayfair Dealership for a final week and is well worth checking out if you’re in the area!

Thank you for using our CineSoft subtle filter 💫 Posted • Dead lates in mid-winter. Come home between 01:30-02:00. Sleep until the sun is thinking about setting. Commute into work in the half-light. Go home on the night bus. Feel jet-lagged. Repeat as necessary (about seven times).

📸 X-Pro3 & 27mm f2.8, with Cinesoft ‘Subtle’ filter and Nano-K ‘Blue Streak’ filter. If shooting film is too expensive, investing in some cool filters can help give a different look! 👍🏻
✨ RAW processed using those old film 06 LR presets (from when VSCO weren’t busy ruining a good thing).
