We had the most amazing luck with the weather when we visited Staffa with earlier this year. The sunny skies made the blue of the water really pop, it is incredibly clear and you could see the bottom, along with some jellyfish! The geology of the area makes it very unique and whilst Fingal’s cave grabs the headlines the island as a whole is beautiful.

We’d done the foot passenger option and linked up with for our trip so were able to make the most of sitting on the sun on the top deck with a leisurely boarding. The Castle dates back to the 13th century and is the seat of Clan McLean

Very excited, my camera gear has returned from a trip to for a bit of TLC so I’m good to go again! Have some great adventures planned this year with and .scot as well as a few closer to home, great to be back out there again. This is the interior of the beautiful St Conan’s Kirk on the banks of Loch Awe, Argyll. It’s a stunning building with some really interesting architecture and features and hopefully we’ll get there again this year

In 2019 I visited Lockerbie with my dad. A small village in the Scottish Borders, now synonymous with tragedy and terrorism. The bravery of the villagers and families in creating a beautiful memorial is tangible and it is one of the most special places I’ve been to. 270 victims of 20 difficult nations lie there, the passengers never making it home for Christmas with their families and the village torn apart losing 11 of their own.If you have the time read the story of Brent Carlsson. All of the victims had their own stories but what stood about for me about him was that a man who dedicated his life to peace should lose it so violently. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bernt_Carlsson . 31 years ago terrorism on Pan Am 103 brought evil to Scotland. 31 years on this part of Scotland stands as a memorial to peace and love that transcends nations and boundaries.

Beautiful Loch Shiel. Famous to most people for one of two main reasons depending on your interests! It is the Loch with Glenfinnan at the head, site of the landing of Bonnie Prince Charlie during the 1745 Jacobite rising, commemorated by the monument there. For others it is better known for Harry Potter with the Loch and the viaduct featuring in the films. I prefer further down the Loch enjoying the more tranquil environment with the peaceful burial island and also Gaskan, previously home to the legendary Mike Tomkies, ending up in the beautiful Acharacle.
