From: "Mi Patria", exhibited at PhotoLondon2026. Cerro San Cristóbal, Lima.

"Punctum": "Prohibido estacionarse", barely visible on the white wall behind the car with the open trunk. Of course! It's no man's land... So why heed the sign that says "no parking" right here? This shows the difference between places where people pay the parking fee even when no one's looking, and not. "De muestra, un botón", says it all: one detail is enough to prove a point.

To abide by the rules is to respect yourself first, but it is also the premise of progress: doing the right thing by default. Always. Without question.

But not here.

The light that afternoon was exquisite. The cross dead center, the rock gleaming under the last rays, the textures... a sudden symphony for the trained eye.

And yet, it's a sad scene. Full of questions about the lives behind those battered, abandoned cars left carelessly on this steep, stony slope.

The beauty of the light disguises the poverty and helplessness underneath. Forgotten people. Misery waiting for mercy.

Gente olvidada. Miseria esperando misericordia.

Bringing back a bit of color. After weeks and weeks of black and white, one of my photos from the series "Mi patria", exhibited at Photo London recently, has recovered it's original look. In spite of its vintage flair, this picture is very recent. It is a view of my mother's kitchen. No words can describe better the array of emotions that this image awakens.

At Photo London this week. Last day today! My JW Andersen's pigeon clutch became my QR holder (I printed little squares for people to takr home and scan later) but also captured the attention of curios visitors.
It has been an amazing experience to exhibit in Olympia and I couldn't be more pleased with the wonderful feedback. Capturing the people's gaze and having them dream with my "visual poems" (as I like to call my photos) is simply the most gratifying experience!
Thank you for this lovely picture,

Second day. Lovely public. Amazing feedback to my "visual poetry" as I like to call my photos. 🙌🏻

White over white seems simple but is actually rather hard to accomplish. I love this picture. It's not recent but has this kind of timeless quality to it. The previous image of splashing water made me think of it, in fact. It's funny how the mind works and knits things together. I know smells can be even more revealing. But to me it's all about visual sensations... Relating images and memories and dates and people and places and concepts and reflections is what actually makes the routine of posting things on IG fun. I have no other particular intention with it. Maybe give others a source of inspiration as well - a visual gift? Who knows someone may pick up something from it...
For me it's an honest and true pleasure to look at my images and then decide which one to incorporate and let flow here in this miscellaneous array. I know, also, that it will be fun and interesting when I review them later - like an album - over and over again in x number of weeks, months or even years and discover then what I thought and valued now: to identify the "me" then and see who the "me" at present has become. 😊
