The Story of Star Photography
When I was young, one night I took an expired film camera and went to Lam Tsuen Pineapple Mountain with my friends to photograph the stars. The sky was filled with countless stars that night, and I was excited to capture them on film. However, to my disappointment, all 24 shots turned out to be black. The photo developer even laughed at me and questioned what I was trying to capture. It turned out that capturing the stars required professional equipment. The photos only showed a black sky with tiny white dots representing the stars.
After much practice and numerous failures, I finally managed to capture my first galaxy in Australia. I was moved to tears when I saw the galaxy, a sight that my eyes could behold. It made me realize how small we humans are in comparison. Since then, whenever I have the opportunity, I always try to capture the stars. Luckily, just two days ago, there was a meteor shower in the Orion constellation, with 20 shooting stars per hour. Unexpectedly, there was a glimpse of a faint aurora borealis and the tail end of the Milky Way. The temperature was 8 degrees Celsius, and during this half-hour process, I took these three photos.
Though it wasn't too freezing, it was definitely worth it. To witness the world with my own eyes and document it is what I aspire to do. My name is Cody, a photographer from Hong Kong. I look forward to learning from and collaborating with others.
