At 22:38 the pagers sounded and Ferryside Lifeboat launched both boats up to Carmarthen to assist with a river search. Both boats utilised powerful search lights and FLIR cameras. This was part of a multi agency response including two boats from mid and west wales fire service, teams from HM coastguard Llansteffan and Tenby along with police and ambulance. Both boats returned at 02:30 the following morning.

Meidrim Fun Day
Today, the community of Meidrim in Carmarthenshire, Wales, gathered for their cherished annual Fund Day, a tradition stretching back to before the Second World War. With a population of about 600, Meidrim came together to raise funds for their park, a vital green space owned and maintained by the community. The event took place in a nearby field, featuring stalls, including one from Meidrim School, which has been educating children since 1908. Unfortunately, the school now faces closure at the end of December, as the council has already removed the recycling units and the mobile library, and plans to redistribute pupils. The schools are about a 10-minute journey away, but the winter roads are hazardous, with heavy snow likely causing more school closures. The community is now looking for further funding to help save the school and secure its future. Despite the challenges, the day was a beacon of hope and solidarity, as the village fights to preserve both their park and their historic school.
