Included in the context of the MA Arts, Health and Welbeing (University of South Wales), of which I am a student, I will be developing a project open to anyone that self identifies as being in perimenopause or menopause (also known as post-menopausal). Limited spaces.
This project aims to explore how creative movement associated with visual arts
can help people going through menopause feel more connected to their bodies
and whether this can open new perspectives of looking at this life transition.
You don't need any previous experience in dance or visual arts to take part. This project is about being present and exploring what our bodies can do creatively. It will be a welcoming space that aims to be responsive to all participants needs.
We will be exploring what our bodies can do, how we can express ourselves through movement and how this movement can lead to and influence mark making. This is not a traditional dance class with marked steps and choreographies. This is a space to find your own flow of movement and expression. If you're curious, get in touch for more information!
