October the 10th 2024 this is a date I'll never forget, I Drove 162 mile round trip to avoid the clouds from Arrochar to Blackness castle, Blackness, nr Linlithgow.. The aurora was seen as soon as it was getting dark and continued through to the next morning, it was seen all over the UK and in all directions, I eventually left at 5am to get back to Arrorchar in time for breakfast
in the image this was 18 photos shot from left to right in portrait then stitched together in photoshop to make this incredible pano ❤️🥰📷

Tonight’s spectacular pairing of the young crescent Moon and a brilliant Venus! 🌙✨ The sky cleared enough to perfectly capture the "Da Vinci Glow" (Earthshine) lighting up the dark side of the lunar disc right next to the evening star. Absolute magic tonight. 🌌🔭

A Bird’s-Eye View of Welsh History: Ynys Gored Goch

Looking straight down at Ynys Gored Goch (Whitebait Island) in the Menai Strait! 🌊🚁 This tiny island dates back centuries—records show it was leased by the Bishop of Bangor in 1590 for just £3 and a barrel of herrings! You can still see the ancient stone fish traps in the water, which trapped fish as the severe tides rolled out.

In the early 1900s, tourists would ring a bell on the shoreline to call a rowing boat and head over to the island for a famous "Whitebait Tea"—fried fish, bread, butter, and a pot of tea for just one shilling!

Golden hour over the Menai Strait. 🌅
nothing quite like the view of the iconic Suspension Bridge and Church Island from above. North Wales looking absolutely timeless. 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿✨
