With a heavy heart, today we’re announcing the closure of both Scale and Fabric Studios after 8 wonderful years. We’re gutted, honestly. This isn’t a decision we’ve been quietly planning for months, it’s happened very recently, and it’s hit us hard.
This wasn’t our choice. We fought hard to keep both spaces open for as long as we possibly could, and tried everything we could think of. But rising costs, driven by the current government’s policies, have left us and a lot of other businesses like ours, with nowhere left to go.
Scale was created to do one thing, give people a space to create, to dance, to laugh, and to make lifetime memories. In 2024 we expanded to a new space downstairs. That blank canvas became Fabric Studios, a place to give our clients even more.
These two spaces were never just a business to us. They were a family, a community, a village. And it was that village that kept our doors open for as long as they were. To every single person who helped build and nurture Scale and Fabric over the years, we could not have lasted this long without you, and so many people would never have had the memories they did without you.
We know this news brings real upset, especially for the couples, the parties, and everyone else with a booking who’s now affected by our sudden closure. We haven’t taken that lightly. It has weighed on us, knowing the heartbreak this causes for people who trusted us with their special day. We wanted nothing more than to be there for you, and that’s the truth. Sorry doesn’t undo the disruption this causes, but we are doing everything we can to make it right, staying in touch with everyone affected and seeing this through properly.
To every client who chose us over the years, thank you. Choosing an independent business helped keep a piece of this city alive. We’re gutted this is the end, but as they say, all good things come to an end.
