I was absolutely made up to be back The Reader to watch Dirty Dancing at the Open Air Cinema, and what a gorgeous night it was.
We were lucky to be upgraded to the table service seats, and they were such a treat.
Our table was all set up with blankets, comfy cushions, candles and of course, popcorn waiting for us. It felt so cosy and wholesome.
Food-wise, we had to try the chicken gyros, and wow... they were unreal! Juicy chicken with chips, salad and sauce – every single bite was delicious. Don’t skip these if you’re visiting! We also tucked into popcorn, ice cream and enjoyed a bottle of Prosecco while the sun went down.
Watching Dirty Dancing as the sun set over Calderstones Park was just one of those perfect summer evenings.
Another thing I loved is that there’s something for everyone. You can bring your own picnic blanket or camping chair, book a deckchair, or go for the table service experience. Whatever your budget, they’ve made sure everyone can enjoy it, and I think that’s so important.
The staff are always so lovely, and it was really nice seeing so many familiar faces again. A little fact that some of you might not know... I actually used to work in an office at The Reader in the Mansion House, so it’ll always have a special place in my heart ❤️
I’ll always support The Reader, whether it’s coming to the open air movie, visiting an arts market, or popping in for a coffee. They do so much for the community, and it’s something I’m really proud to support.
Thank you so much for inviting us. It was another unforgettable evening with the best atmosphere.
Nestled in the beautiful Calderstones Park, with plenty of parking and surrounded by nature, it’s one of my favourite places to spend a summer evening. If you’ve been thinking about booking, this is your sign 💃🌅✨
