What a gorgeous way to kick off August! šŸ„‚

Katie & Craig’s wedding day was full of so many lovely wee moments, and we even managed to sneak away to the coast for some time together as newlyweds.

From wandering along the beach to exploring the harbour, these two were an absolute dream to photograph — relaxed, happy and completely wrapped up in their day. šŸ¤

And can we PLEASE have a moment for Katie’s dress?! šŸ˜ That train against the rocks and harbour was just asking to be photographed.

It was such a pleasure getting to capture this chapter for you both. Congratulations again, Mr & Mrs Lynam! šŸ„‚šŸ¤

Here are just a few of my favourites from the day šŸ“ø

BECKY & ALISTAIR šŸ¤

A little South Queensferry wedding magic ✨

I had the absolute pleasure of joining Alice as second photographer for Becky & Alistair’s gorgeous day — and honestly, what a backdrop to get to play with.

From the beautiful grounds to portraits by the Forth, these two made my job ridiculously easy. Relaxed, romantic and full of those little in-between moments I absolutely love capturing.

And honestly… just give me a beautiful backdrop and a happy couple and I’m in my element šŸ˜‚šŸ“󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁓ó æ

Build breathing room into your timeline ā°

One of the best pieces of advice I can give any couple is this…

Don’t schedule every minute of your wedding day.

Even adding 10–15 minutes of breathing room throughout the day gives you time to enjoy the moment, chat with your guests and soak everything in.

A relaxed timeline almost always leads to more relaxed photographs.

šŸŽ“ Two PhDs. One incredible milestone. šŸ Every finish line deserves celebrating.

It was such a pleasure spending the afternoon with Ellie and Alex as they celebrated graduating from The University of Edinburgh together with their PhDs.

Congratulations again to you both—you’ve worked incredibly hard for this moment, and it was an honour to be there to celebrate it with you. Wishing you both every success in whatever comes next! šŸ„‚

If you’re graduating this year and want photos that feel like you—not just another cap and gown picture—I’d love to help celebrate your achievement.

This is why I love being a wedding photographer. šŸ¤

Last year I photographed Tiesha & Michael’s wedding—the final wedding of my 2025 season.

Last weekend, I had the privilege of photographing them again as they get ready to welcome their new baby.

There’s something really special about being trusted to capture not just one day, but the milestones that follow. Thank you both for asking me back—it was so lovely seeing you both again, and I can’t wait to meet your little one.

Congratulations again, Tiesha & Michael. Wishing you all the happiness as you begin this exciting new chapter together. šŸ¤

Don’t be afraid of the rain šŸŒ§ļø

Scotland and sunshine don’t always go hand in hand… and that’s okay!

Some of my favourite wedding photographs have been taken in the rain.

A little drizzle can create beautiful reflections, soft light and cosy moments that simply wouldn’t happen on a bright sunny day.

The key is having a photographer who’s prepared with a backup plan.

Rain doesn’t ruin a wedding day—it just tells part of your story.

The best wedding photos happen when you’re not thinking about the camera. šŸ¤

One of the biggest worries I hear is:

ā€œWe’re awkward in front of the camera.ā€

The truth is… almost every couple says that.

You don’t need to know how to pose or spend hours in front of the camera to get beautiful photos.

I’ll guide you when you need it, give you plenty of prompts to help you relax, and then let the real moments happen naturally.

Some of my favourite images are the ones between the poses—the laughs, the little glances and the moments you didn’t even realise I captured.

✨ Your only job is to enjoy your wedding day.

Leave the rest to me.

šŸ’¬ What’s your biggest worry about wedding photography?

Jillian & Jen šŸ¤

Last month I had the pleasure of second shooting alongside the lovely Alice from Fraser Photography for Jillian & Jen’s wedding at OROCCO Pier in South Queensferry.

From the emotional moments and happy tears to the laughter, hugs and gorgeous couples portraits, it was such a wonderful day to be part of. These two were an absolute joy to photograph and it was clear just how loved they are by everyone around them.

One of my favourite things about second shooting is getting to capture the little moments that happen throughout the day — the glances, smiles and quiet interactions that tell the story of a wedding just as much as the big moments do.

Congratulations again to Jillian & Jen, and thank you for letting me be a small part of your beautiful day. āœØšŸ¤
