Some of my very favourite photographs of children are the photographs where they’re not smiling. The images where their serious little face is captured inbetween the smiles and the action. There’s something so beautiful about the quiet, thoughtful expressions.
Don’t get me wrong, I love a happy, smiley photo as much as anyone. But there’s something about those moments in between. When they’re quietly watching, thinking, daydreaming or completely absorbed in whatever they’re doing. Those moments contain so much magic for me ✨

Give me a session shooting the normal life moments any day. These are the memories that you’ll look back on and they will feel real and will spark such wonderful memories. The cups and plates being used, the uniform hung over the chair, the oh so sassy but adorable facial expression. All of these details help to bottle that real moment, to preserve it so it can be treasured forever ✨

A few months ago I had the very special request to photograph a group of six cousins. We gathered together from varying parts of the country to meet in their great grandmothers garden. The photograph taken is a birthday present for their great grandmother’s 100th birthday!! 🎈 🎂 Photographs really do make for incredibly special gifts and it was a joy to capture such a special snapshot!
