We got scammed!
If you've followed us for a while now, you will have probably seen this guy featuring in some of our content.
We knew him as Sameer Alsard but this is Sameer Ismail and he's a convicted fraudster! So now we call him Scami Sami!
Sami came to us initially as a customer and pretty soon we struck up a close friendship and the conversation eventually turned to helping out our business and investment in the future.
Sami offered to purchase £34k worth of film scanning equipment for us - in exchange he got as much free development as he could ever need, and thousands of pounds of cameras and film
To cut a long story short, sami spent the better part of 6 months forging receipts that showed he had kept up his side of the bargain, and spun one lie after another when in reality Sameer never paid a penny for anything, and we lost thousands in the process
Since cutting ties with Sameer we have learned more and more about his long history of lies, fraud, and theft, and in the process have got in touch with numerous victims of his. In the meantime, Sami has threatened to do harm to us and our business - he has a history of falsifying and doctoring documents, so expect to see lots of negative reviews, fake screenshots, and whatever else Sami can think of from his bedroom in Birmingham
If you have been affected negatively in any way as a result of the trust that we placed in Sameer, then we are truly sorry for our poor judgement. If you are planning to sell him a camera, he isn't going to pay for it, and if he is trying to sell you a camera, chances are its stolen
Alex and I are just a couple of regular people trying to make film cheaper and more accessible for everyone, and to make an honest living while we do it. Sami has unfortunately left us with no choice but to ask for your help.
We're launching a fund to raise 15k to pay for new lab equipment that will ensure we can go toe to toe with the big labs and will make sure that we can provide for all your film needs for years to come.
Anything raised above the 15k mark will be donated to charity to help other victims of fraud.
