Dancing daisies swaying in the breeze, their delicate forms painted into soft brushstrokes with a single ICM exposure. I was drawn to the way the white flowers stood out against the dark foliage behind them and wanted to capture that sense of movement, rhythm, and quiet summer magic.

✨ Light in motion. Time layered into memory.
This image blends a number of ICM (Intentional Camera Movement) exposures, layered together to move beyond a single moment and into something more felt than seen; a visual memory rather than a literal landscape. The blurred trunks, drifting textures, and radiant starburst are echoes of a sunset in transition - a reminder that nature is never still, and neither are we.

Last week we said goodbye to my Dad following a 10 year battle with cancer. I’m finding myself listening more closely - to the wind in the grass, the light through the trees, and the quiet spaces between thoughts. I liked how this multiple exposure of a local meadow turned out. It feels to me a bit like a conversation carried on the breeze; memories, gratitude, and love that remains even after someone is gone.

Buttercups glowing in the long grass, cow parsley dancing in the breeze, and a little intentional camera movement to turn this view at South Common in Lincoln into something more dreamlike 🌿✨
Sometimes a photograph can feel more like a memory.
Those of you who know this location will notice the spire of the International Bomber Command Centre on the horizon to the right.

Blossoms in motion 🌸✨
Red horse chestnut flowers with a blend of intentional camera movement images — soft edges, shifting light, and the feeling of a summer garden remembered rather than seen.

Cow Parsley dancing in the sunshine in the woods. I’ve photographed cow parsley many times before and never really been happy with the results, but ICM really adds that dimension of movement and to me finally gives this beautiful wild flower the frothy feeling it deserves.

Loving all the spring blossoms everywhere and the hedges full of floral loveliness. This particular hawthorn bush is opposite my house and the sight of it makes me smile every day.

A delightful walk through the bluebells at last weekend and the chance to try out some more creative photography techniques. This is a multiple exposure combing a sharp and ICM image of the same scene, overlayed with a shot of one of the stones from the wall of the manor to add some texture (Canon EOS R5, Canon RF 24 - 105mm F4 L IS USM lens).
