I went to photograph the sunset at Tupholme Abbey, but these sunflowers in the neighbouring field had other ideas 🌻 Bathed in that last golden light, they felt impossible to pass by - soft, fleeting and full of summer warmth. A little reminder that the most beautiful moments aren’t always the ones you set out to find.

Tea on the lawn at the Grays Court Hotel in York, with the towers of York Minster rising beyond. I captured this from the city wall using intentional camera movement, turning a quintessentially English scene into something dreamlike and painterly. A moment of tea, history and summer light - all my favourite things together ✨

A gentle breeze was all it took to transform this quiet woodland reflection into something altogether different. As the ripples travelled across the reflection, the white trunks of the silver birch seemed to lose their familiar stripes, becoming soft, painterly lines. Look closely and the surface almost takes on the appearance of marble. A simple reflection became less about the trees themselves and more about the feeling they left behind. Nature rarely stands still - and perhaps that’s where its magic lies.

This piece began with an idea rather than a scene. I wanted to bring together movement, colour and the delicate structure of a dried seed to create something that felt suspended between nature and imagination. As the layers came together, it became less about the individual elements and more about the feeling they created - a quiet moment of light, hope and transformation ✨

The Watcher Within …
This began as an intentional camera movement photograph of light filtering through the trees. But as I explored it further, something unexpected emerged. A presence. A face. Perhaps a woodland spirit … Or maybe just the way our minds search for meaning in light and shadow. I love photographs that ask questions rather than answer them. What do you see?

Sometimes the evening asks nothing of us except that we stand still. As the sun sank over the fields, the grasses shimmered and fluffy thistle heads danced in the warm breeze, glowing with the last light of summer. Rather than document the landscape, I wanted to preserve the feeling it left behind - a quiet moment of light, warmth and wonder that lingers long after the sun has gone. I hope this brings a little bit of summer’s quiet into your evening.

Following on from my last post, another moment from the beautiful Peto Gardens at the Petwood Hotel in Woodhall Spa. As the sun slipped behind the trees, the last of the evening light settled across the Tudor architecture; I used a gentle camera movement to transform the scene into something that feels more like a memory than a photograph.
Look a little closer and you’ll spot the fairy lights beginning to twinkle along the Long Walk, quietly announcing the arrival of dusk. ✨

Through the Fountain 💦
Sometimes it’s the movement that reveals the magic. A gentle camera movement through the fountain at the Petwood Hotel in Woodhall Spa, where the evening light caught every spray of water and turned an ordinary moment into something almost dreamlike.
✨ Chasing light, movement, and those fleeting moments in between.

🌲✨ Forest Fusion ✨
Sometimes a photograph doesn’t have to belong to one place.
This image actually began as two separate ICM photographs, taken miles apart - a woodland in Norfolk where the light cascaded through the trees like a river, and a summer sunset in the Lincolnshire Wolds that brought its warmth and colour. Blended together, they became something that never existed … yet somehow feels familiar.
Perhaps that’s what memories do too.

Back home in Lincolnshire 💛
There’s something about the quiet flow of the River Witham that always feels familiar. As the evening light softened and the sun dipped towards the horizon, I used intentional camera movement to move beyond the literal and capture the feeling of the moment instead. Sometimes it’s less about documenting a place and more about holding onto the emotion it leaves behind.
✨ Home isn’t just somewhere you are - it’s somewhere you feel.
